This full-day tour of the Fortified cities of Romania, Sibiu and Fagaras Fortress from Brasov will let you discover the beauty of Transylvania with its old and full of history cities. We will start with Fagaras Fortress which dominates all the buildings in the city, being situated in the town centre. It is surrounded by a lake, the only fortress of its kind in Romania and it’s still retained completely. Next, we will visit Sibiu on a walking tour, we’ll discover the facts and the legends behind the fortification of Sibiu, the historical churches or the romantic squares. After the Sibiu visit, we will go to the Ethnographic Museum where you’ll discover the Romanian villages.

At around 8 AM your guide will pick you up from your location in Brasov and transfer to the starting point at Dambu Morii. Start hiking and after about 1 hour you will reach the Seven Ladders Canyon, carved by the Sipoaia stream in Jurassic limestone. You will go right through it on the special trail built with metal and consisting of seven ladders and multiple bridges. After exiting the canyon, you will continue your hike up to the Piatra Mare hut, at 1630 meters. After a short break, begin climbing to the peak, at 1844m. From the top, you will have fantastic views over Brasov area and the surrounding mountains: Bucegi, Piatra Craiului, Baiului, Postavaru, Ciucas. Depending on weather conditions and fitness level of the participants, you have several routes on the way down. One of them leads back to the hut where you can have a well deserved lunch. Continue down to base, get in the car and get back to your location in Brasov.

Hike up to the Ciucas peak (1954m) in this 1 day trip from Brasov. You will be picked up from your hotel in Brasov and driven to Bratocea Pass (1260m), where you will begin your trip up the mountain. The Weapens Collection and the Torture Room is housed at the foot of the Clock Tower and is the same room where prisoners were tortured during the Middle Ages. Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation and together, you will go in the forests around Brasov in search for wild mushrooms, plants and forest fruits. Hiking and foraging isn't easy, depending on the terrain, so keep in mind that you have to be fit in order to walk around the forest, sometimes on steep terrain, loose rocks or mud. Depending on your schedule, the tour can take between three to six hours. You will decide when you want to stop, together with your guide. In the end, you will be dropped off at your accommodation. Please note that your guide will not recommend eating mushrooms. If you decide to cook them, he is not responsible if you get intoxicated.
