Once aboard our comfortable boats, we will navigate through the Boca del Diablo and head towards the Upsala Channel. Here, you will experience the unparalleled sensation of sailing among icebergs, some of very large size, that have broken off from the Upsala Glacier. It’s truly a wonderful and unique experience! The Blue Safari is designed for those who, in addition to sailing in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier, dream of getting closer to the glacier ice! The excursion begins in El Calafate when the bus leaves for Los Glaciares National Park. Once in Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, just 7 km from the catwalks, we will take a boat to cross Lake Rico and, after sailing for 20 minutes, we will disembark on the opposite coast. Little by little we will walk for 30 minutes always with a view of the southern wall of the Glacier in case some thunderous landslide surprises us. Once next to the ice it will be time for an unforgettable experience... We will be able to fully enjoy its intense and varied blues, whites and its whimsical shapes. We will have time to take many photos and then we will return to the boarding place always accompanied by an experienced guide. The total walk is approximately 1.30 hours.

We begin our Perito Moreno Glacier tour by picking you up directly at El Calafate Bus Station in the morning. You’ll then head over to Los Glaciares National Park. Travelling along Ruta 11, we’ll get some fantastic views as you'll be driven along the edge of Argentino lake towards Brazo Rico. You'll get to see some spectacular views of the Perito Moreno Glacier on the way to the Park. After you go inside the National Park, you'll have free time to watch and tour the park's catwalks and viewpoints, all at different heights, which will give you the perfect opportunity to see all the best sides of the glacier. The highlight of this experience is that you'll be free to wander the corners of this UNESCO World Heritage site. In the afternoon, you'll head back to El Calafate and be dropped back at the Bus Station.

In a small group, we will head off in a 4×4 vehicle for 9.5 kms, climbing through the Feruglio mountain range to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Lago Guillermo, where our 4 ½ hour hike begins. We will visit Glaciar Upsala’s privileged lookout point and walk down over the eroded trails with exposed fascinating marine fossils. CONSIDERATIONS • Minimum age: 12 years old. • This trekking is only suitable for individuals with a good physical condition. • This is not recommended for people with vertebral column, hips, ankles and knees problems. • It is essential to have trekking shoes, preferably boots with ankle protection.

This is a whole day excursion very different from the rest in the area. The site is located in the middle steppe just halfway between El Calafate and El Chaltén. Throughout the walk you can see a large number of petrified logs that lie on the surface, some 70 million years old, some with a diameter of 1.20 m. These remains are testimony to ancient times where the weather was very different from today and allowed the support of a large and abundant flora. Occasionally fossil remains of different types of dinosaurs are discovered.
