Isle of Skye Highlights - Bespoke Private Tour for up to 7 guests

This tour can be completely tailored to your bespoke requirements. It is a private tour for your group only and we can incorporate as little or as much of each destination as you would like. The Mystical Isle of Skye is not just amazing for its astonishing natural beauty but also for the enchanting stories and folklore telling of mythical creatures, witches and water-horses, giants and ghosts, saints and sinners, fairies and kelpies. I aim to be your story teller and pass on my beautiful knowledge of the ancient tales, mainly from the Gaelic–Norse period, which have been handed down by word of mouth to entertain many generations of Island people with deeds of heroism and bravery against implacable forces. O come with me where the sea-birds fly Remote and far by the Isle of Skye Away with the winds a-sailing! Where dreams are the gifts availing Will ye come with me? Slow Food Highland Dining and Storytelling in Inverness

21
Scotland Food and Drink selected my experience as one of the best fifty Food and Drink Experiences in 2025, and I am delighted because it is important for guests visiting the Highlands to eat the best of what the region has to offer, incorporated into traditional recipes, and I can guarantee a thoroughly Highland experience. The Cleikum Social Eating Club has been modelled on the Cleikum referred to in Sir Walter Scott’s “St. Ronan’s Well”, and who did more than the latter to introduce the Highlands for romantic destination travel? I was born and brought up in Inverness, and am enthusiastic about the visiting potential of this area, and know it well. I was a hostess/guide in the observation car of the Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh during the summer season when I was at University. I provided a running commentary during the journey, and helped travellers with suggestions on where to eat on arrival, what they should see in the area, and information on the Isle of Skye.

Cawdor Castle, Clava cairns and Culloden Battlefield

1
We will start of with a visit to a beautiful Castle, Cawdor Castle which is linked to Shakespeare's Macbeth, but home to the magical, fairy tale castle. It dates from the late 14th century, having been built as a private fortress by the Thanes of Cawdor, with the ancient medieval tower built around the legendary holly tree - wherever you look, Cawdor Castle is steeped in intrigue and history. A short drive from here will take us to the famous site of the last battle fought on British soil, Culloden Battlefield for visit and lunch. Culloden Battlefield has been restored as close as possible to how it was when battle took place in April 1746. There is a fantastic state of the art visitors centre, where we have time to take in over 250yrs of history and artifacts since the Battle. After lunch, a 5 minute drive to the Clava cairns. This is a fascinating historical place dating back to 2000BC. A Clava Cairn is a type of circular chamber tomb cairn from the Bronze Age.
