We are Aventuras Arenal, a Costa Rican family company focused on giving our traveling friends a supreme “Pura Vida” experience at the Arenal Volcano Area. We’ve been creating and giving our clients lots of great memories through our tours for the past 26 years.

The ride takes around 30 minutes to get to the rain forest where the hanging bridges of different heights are located. During this approximate two mile hike, with some luck, you will be able to see: Howler Monkeys, Spider Monkeys, white faced Capuchin Monkeys, many species of birds, snakes, Armadillos, Coatimundis (a member of the Racoon family often known to beg for scraps) and various other animals that may include Iguanas and Sloths.
After our hike in the rain forest we will continue our journey to the La Fortuna Waterfall, a beautiful place with a lot of vegetation around it. Once there it is another hike down (500 steps with some resting areas) to the waterfall base to go for a swim in the cool pristine waters of La Fortuna river. After all this hiking exercise you will be hungry so we will visit a nice restaurant nearby to enjoy a delicious lunch.
Enjoy amazing views of Volcano Arenal in a “Pura Vida” atmosphere while preparing and tasting your newest culinary creations. The class is located in a gorgeous professional kitchen overlooking the rainforest. You will learn Scott’s personal recipes, techniques, get to participate in the creation of them, and of course sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Our forest, project that started back in 2000, reforesting cattle farms, in the seek for forest recovering in la Fortuna, has become home for a great local flora and fauna variety throughout the years, very important for their preservation. It is also a great place for birdwatching.
Throughout the tour, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to observe a variety of wildlife, including toucans, basilisks, and other exotic creatures. Your guide will share interesting facts about the animals and plants you encounter, giving you a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty of the area.

On this 6hour nature adventure you will see all the stunning beauty of the Arenal area. It doesn't come easy though. Narrow jungle trails and huge lava rocks need to be conquered. The reward is definitely worth the effort. Getting out of the jungle you reach the lava rocks right at the foot of the volcano. With the impressive Arenal looming over you, you realy get an idea of the immensity of this now silent giant. Making our way down your bilingual guide tells about the eco system and the wildlife we may encounter.
Reaching the bottom part of the trek a emerald green clean water lake awaits us. You can jump in with a Tarzan swing and take time for a refreshing swim in this magnificently beautiful place. After this break we have a typical style lunch. To finish our experience we go to a small resort where we relax in natural hot water pools for about an hour.

Take a rollicking ride down Sarapiquí River on this white-water rafting tour from La Fortuna. A guide leads your group down Class III and IV rapids that have names like the Terminator and Dos Locos. Take a riverside snack break at the halfway point and after you're done riding the rapids, refuel with lunch at a local restaurant. Bonus: Pickup and drop-off from La Fortuna hotels are included.
A unique way to experience Costa Rica's natural beauty and wildlife. Slowly floating down the Peñas Blancas River in a raft. The drive to the Peñas Blancas river is only 20 minutes. The float takes about two hours with a small fruit break half way down. When we get back to La Fortuna, we provide a typical organic Costa Rican lunch. We make you homemade coffee and take you for a small walk up behind the restaurant, to show you how we grow organic. We finish with a sugarcane demonstration where you get to take the pure sugarcane juice and alcohol.

In this place you will find four pools that vary in temperature from 99° Fahrenheit to 105° (37° to 41° C). These warm waters have an invigorating and calming effect. One of the pools has an artificial waterfall. All pools are surrounded by the bright colors and vegetation of the Arenal rainforest.

Eco Termales prepares fresh and tasty Creole cuisine for its guests. Meals here are served buffet style. You can choose between two hot entrees and then help yourself to ingredients for salads, fruit, the soup of the day and a selection of Costa Rican desserts.
