The Machame route is our most popular and successful route leading to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Hikers sleep in tents which are carried up the mountain by porters. The Machame route is a very scenic and beautiful route, which can be completed in 6 days, however we strongly recommend hiking the route in 7 days, allowing for more time to acclimatise. The key to the success of the Machame route is its topography, allowing hikers to climb high and sleep low, helping towards better acclimatisation. There are however two drawbacks on this route:

When you approach Lake Manyara National Park from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and on the escarpment, elephants stand in the shade. The meadows along Lake Eyasi's shores and forest are home to a wide variety of wildlife including leopard, hippos, a variety of monkeys, various birds, greater and lesser flamingoes, storks, and pelicans. Further highlights of this 6-day safari include the world-famous Serengeti National Park, archaeological site Olduvai Gorge and the natural wonder Ngorongoro Crater.

The Lemosho route is beautiful with panoramic vistas on both ends of the mountain, and with a high success rate. The route crosses Shira plateau through Shira ridge to Shira camp. The minimum number of days required for this route is 7days though 8 days can be ideal.

The Machame route is our most successful and popular hiking route on Mt. Kilimanjaro, mainly as a result of the following two important factors: - On day 3 of the hike the topography of this route, allow you to climb high and sleep low – when you start from Shira camp (3 847m) hike up to Lava Tower (4 642m) and then down to Barranco camp (3 984m) to overnight. - The summit attempt path from Barafu camp has less loose scree (rocks) compared to the summit attempt path from Kibo Hut, making it slightly easier to reach the crater rim.

The is a great day hike to Mandara Hut via the Marangu Route. You will be picked up in the morning at your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and taken to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m). The drive will take approximately 1 hour from Moshi or 2 and a half hours from Arusha. Once the necessary gate registration has been completed, your trek can begin and you will soon be hikingthrough the dense Kilimanjaro. After a 3-4 hour hike, you will reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where you will have a well-earned rest and lunch. Your guide will then take you on a short hike (15 minutes walking distance) to the Maundi Crater, where you can enjoy wonderful views of Mt Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania and Kenya. Once you have thoroughly enjoyed the views, you will return to the Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walking distance), where your vehicle will be waiting for your transfer back to your hotel. On your return journey you can enjoy the sunset and the day‘s memories.

The best and most popular 6 days Kilimanjaro climbing via machame route. This 6-day Kilimanjaro climbing tour package via machame route is the best mountain package for those who have only six days, the Machame route is the best choice because of its acclimatization profile. Compared to other 6-day routes, the Machame route exposes the climber to higher elevations quicker (day 3) which kick-starts the body's adaptation to altitude. However, this route requires a person in good shape to be able to tackle the challenging elevation gains and losses. The 6-day Kilimanjaro climbing via Machame variation is a difficult route. In particular, day 4 combined with day 5 makes for a very hard schedule. Day 4 is a full day of hiking from Barranco to Barafu. Then after dinner and a partial night's sleep, the very long and strenuous summit day begins around midnight. The 6-day Machame route requires 19-24 hours of demanding walking, at extremely high elevations, with only 4-6 hours of sleep.
