Machame Route:
Machame route is our most popular and successful route leading to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Hikers sleep in tents which are carried up the mountain by porters. The Machame route is a very scenic and beautiful route, which can be completed in 6 days, though we recommend hiking the route in 7 days, allowing for more time to acclimatize. The key to the success of the Machame route is its topography, allowing hikers to climb high and sleep low, helping towards better acclimatization.
This is a popular route up steep paths through magnificent forests to gain a ridge leading through the moorland zones to the Shira Plateau. It then traverses beneath the glaciated precipices of the Southern Icefields to join the Barafu Route to the summit. An extra day could be added to the itinerary, best spent on the Shira Plateau, where you could walk to the Shira Needles. Strong groups could omit camping at Karanga River. The Mweka Route is used for the descent.
Accommodation on the mountain is in tents, which the porters will pitch for you. You will need a sleeping bag, warm clothes and walking poles. This is a steep, tough trek within the limits of a fit individual used to walking in mountain areas.
The longest and the newest route on Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern circuit is known for excellent acclimatization and breathtaking views of the Kilimanjaro northern slopes. A very limited number of travelers have set foot on this trail, and the route is hardly ever crowded.
Staying overnight in the Kilimanjaro crater is a one-of-a-kind experience. You'll be sleeping higher than most on Earth, beneath clear, starry skies, and with breathtaking views of glaciers that are diminishing yearly due to wind erosion.
However, crater camping brings an added layer of challenge and risk due to the high altitude. It necessitates a realistic assessment of your physical condition and high-altitude experience. We offer this program, which includes crater camping, as an extended 10-day trek.
Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. The second hottest option among the climbers is that the Machame route also referred to as “the Whiskey Route”. This route offers a good sort of views, landscapes, and experiences. The start line of the route, Machame Gate, is merely a 20-minute drive from Aishi Machame Hotel. Located on the southern slope of Mt Kilimanjaro, Machame Gate will lead you to the highest of Kilimanjaro along the exciting footpath which starts at the tropical forest, then runs through all the climate zones and finishes with the Arctic desert within the summit area.
Camps along the trek are favorably located for a smooth and gradual acclimatization transition process. On the 3rd day, Machame Route converges with Lemosho and Umbwe at Barranco camp.
You can choose from a six or seven-day climb. The latter one is very preferred for better acclimatization transition.

Aside from wanting to just see this stunning beauty with their own eyes, high-altitude climbers from all over the world flock to Mount Kilimanjaro to experience the grit and intensity hiking the world’s tallest freestanding mountain.
Whether you are at the base or the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, you’ll always find something new to discover.
A fun Kilimanjaro fact is that from the rich culture of the Chagga people to the wide-ranging biodiversity and many exciting routes that one can take to reach the top, Kilimanjaro’s possibilities for adventure are endless.
Arusha National Park is a gem of varied ecosystems and spectacular views of Mt. Meru. The small national park includes the slopes, summit, and ash cone of Mt. Meru, the Momela Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater, and the lush highland forests that blanket its lower slopes. Game viewing around the Momela Lakes and while passing through the forest stop to search for troupes of rare colobus monkeys playing in the canopy.
The West Kilimanjaro plains are a region in northern Tanzania comprising both Maasai community lands and Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs). The region is filled with acacia woodland and open plains that support a remarkable variety of wildlife and spectacular views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The most common animals in the area include wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, impalas, giraffes and baboons. Depending on the time of the year, elephants can also be observed as the region lies along an elephant corridor linking Kenya’s Amboseli’s National Park & Mt. Kilimanjaro. This region is home to the nomadic Maasai herdsmen who co-exist with the surrounding wildlife, hence the term "Maasai Land". Given the rich culture of the Maasai people and the variety of wildlife, a cycling tour in this area is ideal for those discerning travelers looking for an unforgettable off-the-beaten-path adventure experience that includes walking, photography, culture and scenery.

Kikuletwa Hotsprings gets its name from the water that bubbles in underground caves. Surrounded by fig trees, this area is a hidden gem in the midst of a semi-arid landscape. Here you may find a diversity of colorful birds amongst an abundance of plant life and neighboring indigenous tribes. There is also an option to camp overnight and hike.
Known for being beautifully scenic, the Machame Route also has the best summit success rate. This route allows you to “climb high, sleep low”, giving your body time to adjust to the changes in altitude over several days. Climbs can take six or seven days; however, we would always advise choosing the longer route for the best chance of acclimatization and reaching the summit.
Your friendly guide will arrive at your accommodation armed with your tasty packed lunch. Then he or she will bustle you into the transport and drive you to Lake Chala Safari Camp. On the way you’ll journey through the everyday life of Moshi and on to the freeway, and you can spend a relaxing, comfortable hour-and-a-bit taking in the sights.
Lake Chala Safari Camp is a beautiful private game reserve overlooking Lake Chala. You’ll arrive there and our guide will take you down to the lakeside, through vividly green flora, with the blue, blue lake ahead of you. It gets quite rocky near the lake so wear sturdy footwear. It’s a stunning area perfect for hikers and birdwatchers, and in season you might be lucky enough to spot elephants gathering at a distant waterhole. Spend the day wandering the paths around the lake or across the nearby savannah, where you’re likely to see baboons, vervet monkeys and blue monkeys as well as (perhaps) the shy dik-dik and graceful kudu, too.
Kilimanjaro 7 days Machame route is highly recommended for high altitude acclimatization gain.Though the climbing can be done in a minimum of six days (five nights) on the mountain. However, it is most often tackled over seven days (six nights), for a better altitude acclimatization schedule. The success rate is significantly higher when using the seven day route. With an approximation of 62 km/ 37 miles from gate to gate. It is designed for physically fit people with some hiking experience, but plenty of first time trekker use the route as well and do just fine.
We will offer you a memorable opportunity to interactively experience the Masai way of life through day trips. Guests will be able to participate in a variety of unique cultural activities, and encouraged to delve as deep into the experience as possible!
