You will begin your hike at Marangu Gate (1,900m) before traversing through the equatorial rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m), which is situated on the forest belt border just below Maundi Crater. Machame route is our most popular and successful route leading to the summit of Kilimanjaro. Hikers sleep in tents which are carried up the mountain by porters. The key to the success of the Machame route is its topography, allowing hikers to climb high and sleep low, helping towards better acclimatization. Some of the interesting facts about Mount Kilimanjaro that make it the leading tourist attraction in Africa a) Frenchman Valtee Daniel is the oldest person in history to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. He made the ascent at 87 years of age. Each year, over 20,000 people attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. A typical ascent takes five to nine days depending on the number of hours per day spent on climbing. b) In 2003, South African Bernard Goosen scaled the mountain twice in a wheelchair. His first summit was in 2003 and took nine days while his second, which was four years later, took six days. He used a modified wheelchair to make the climb.

Marangu Route is also known as the “Coca-Cola” or “tourist” route. It is the easiest and shortest route to the summit. This is also the only route with the comforts of sleeping huts at every camp site with solar lights and comfortable beds. The huts are communal, and the bunks have a sponge mattress and pillow. The day hike is a challenge that allows a client to see what kilimanjaro is all about whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery around. This hike is managable especially for people who either don't have enough time or the financial capacity to do the full hike. The trip has beautiful wildlife such as the Monkeys colobus and blue velvet, there is beautiful bird sightings and most importantly the vegetation such as the Eucalyptus trees are not something to be missed. The trip will begin on a pick up at your hotel and drive for about an hour to the Marangu gate which is where we will begin the hike. We will hike to Mandara hut which is about 2700m and on the way we will have the opportunity to see the Maundi crater which you will be able to see the soroundings including Northen Tanzania and Kenya. 7 days climbing Lemosho Route is one of the best options for climbing Kilimanjaro. The route provides plenty of time for acclimatization and takes in the entire scenery of the mountain as it practically traverses it from west to east. The access via the western route requires a bit longer drive to the trail head but is well worth it as you get to drive through some wild country and may even be lucky enough to spot buffalo or an elephant. During the first few days of the trek, you will ascend the western flank of the mountain a side of mountain few visitors reach as you ascend through the lowland jungles to the Shira Plateau. Climbers spend the afternoon resting here before making a midnight summit push. It's a 6-hour slog to the crater rim and another hour of traversing across the rim of the crater to reach Uhuru Peak the final summit and highest point in Africa.
