Known as the “Coca-Cola” route, the Marangu route is a classic trek on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the oldest, most well established route. Many favour the Marangu route because it is considered to be the easiest path on the mountain, due to its more gradual slope. It is also the only route which offers sleeping huts with dormitory style accommodation. There are 60 bunk beds at both Mandara and Kibo Huts, and 120 bunk beds at Horombo Hut. Guests are supplied with mattresses and pillows, but sleeping bags are still required. The huts have communal dining halls and basic washrooms, ranging from flushing toilets and running water at the lower huts to long drop toilets and buckets of water at Kibo Hut.

Then it's up across the Shira Plateau through the Grand Baranco Canyon and on to the top. If all goes as planned, you’ll reach Stella Point at dawn, with a chance to continue around Kibo’s rim to the summit, Uhuru Peak. Fit to trek? The Machame route is a strenuous, but not technical, climb and no mountain-climbing experience is necessary. Because of its remote location the route offers trekkers a relatively unspoilt wilderness experience where it is possible to see large wildlife like antelope, elephant and buffalo. The North-East side of the mountain gets significantly less moisture than the southern slopes which means that trekkers are less likely to encounter rain. Trekkers are also more likely to get clear, unclouded views of the mountain. The Rongai Route is flatter than the other Kilimanjaro routes but because of its profile it does not offer trekkers good options to climb high and sleep low. It can be hiked on a six, seven or even eight day. The seven or eight day Rongai routes are highly recommended as trekkers have extra days to acclimatise.

Natural clean spring water. Ideal for swimming in the warm water and relaxation. The drive from Moshi to Kikuletwa Hot Springs will start on paved road toward Arusha, before turning left onto a gravel road about 30 minutes later. This non-technical Kilimanjaro camping route is the only one to start from the Northern side of the mountain. Rongai approaches the main Kilimanjaro (Kibo) cone from the Northeast which usually is drier (helping avoid rainfall) and descends via the Marangu route on the Southeast. Though we consider this less physically demanding than other routes (no scrambling sections as you get on the southern circuit routes), short treks do not offer acclimatization opportunities and the easier walk may catch up with you at the higher altitudes, however more days spent on the Mountain increase your chance to summit.

Ngorongoro Crater has a glorious landscape that's teeming with about 25,000 animals including ungulates, four of the Big Five, and other large mammals. It is also one of the best places to spot critically endangered animals like black rhinos, golden cats, and wild hunting dogs. The Serengeti is considered the best African safari park to see the Big Five since it is so much easier to observe them than in any other African park. The variety of its ecosystems is what makes this area such a hospitable home to so many different species of wildlife.

7 days climbing Lemosho Route is one of the best options for climbing Kilimanjaro. The route provides plenty of time for acclimatization and takes in the entire scenery of the mountain as it practically traverses it from west to east. The access via the western route requires a bit longer drive to the trail head but is well worth it as you get to drive through some wild country and may even be lucky enough to spot buffalo or an elephant. During the first few days of the trek, you will ascend the western flank of the mountain a side of mountain few visitors reach as you ascend through the lowland jungles to the Shira Plateau. Climbers spend the afternoon resting here before making a midnight summit push. It's a 6-hour slog to the crater rim and another hour of traversing across the rim of the crater to reach Uhuru Peak the final summit and highest point in Africa.

This route provides the opportunity to “trek high and sleep low” which is considered important in minimizing the potential for altitude sickness. The climb starts above the picturesque mountain village of Machame to the south of Kilimanjaro. After passing through the Machame forest and into the moorland zone, we scramble up and over some rocks and eventually emerge onto the Shira Plateau. We then advance counter-clockwise traversing below the southern face of Kibo, climb Lava Tower for magnificent 360 degree panoramas, ascend the Great Barranco Wall, a challenging and exhilarating rock scramble, and approach Uhuru Summit from Barafu or Kossovo Camp and the ridge that abuts the Southeast Valley. The climb from Barafu offers incredible views of Mawenzi Peak and Kilimanjaro’s remnant volcanic cone.
