It’s impossible to climb this famous highest Mount Kilimanjaro in a day, but our day trip to this majestic iconic snow-capped mountain will give you a shot to scramble up the first leg of the well-known Marangu route. On your way through the thick rainforest, you will come across twittering and chattering bird life, colobus monkeys, and don’t forget to watch out for the curious blue Monkeys.

Marangu route which is also known as the coca cola route is the least expensive route to the summit. This is also the only route with the comforts of sleeping huts at every campsite with solar lights and comfortable beds. The huts are communal, and the bunks have a sponge mattress and pillow. There are 60 beds at both Mandara and Kibo Huts and 120 beds at Horombo Hut. Bathrooms and running water are available at the two lower huts. Mens’ and ladies’ latrines are available at the last camp but are very basic. All climbing groups, often from several countries around the world, share meals in dining huts providing a jovial and energetic atmosphere. This route is usually done in 5 days (the shortest route to the summit) but can be done in 6 days for better acclimatization. The extra day can be spent resting at Horombo or climbing the small peak of Mawenzi.

On this trip, you will start off visiting Tarangire before heading for the Serengeti plains for 2 nights then finishing off your days in the wild with a descent down the crater before heading to Kilimanjaro for a moderate hike to materuni waterfalls & a refreshing dip at the hot springs

Trek Mount Kili through Marangu Route well Known as the "Coca-Cola" route, the Marangu route approaches Kilimanjaro from the southeast. It is the oldest, most well established route. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro marangu route  Many favor the Marangu route because it is considered to be the easiest path on the mountain, given its gradual slope and direct path. Marangu is the only route which offers sleeping huts in dormitory style accommodations. The mountain can be climbed in 6 hours, affording breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley and volcanic formations in the Ngorongoro highlands as you get to the summit. It is an adventurous hike starting at dawn. Lying on the base of the mountain, Lake Natron is said to be the only breeding area for the endangered Lesser Flamingoes that live in the Great Rift Valley and it is believed to be the world’s most important breeding site for the Lesser Flamingoes, accounting for 75 per cent of the global population. The soda lake sits on the lowest point of the Great Rift Valley part in East Africa and is quite shallow, less than three meters deep, and varies in width depending on its water level. The temperatures in the lake mud can reach more than 40 degrees Celsius where evaporation causes high alkalinity. It is said the lake’s high alkaline environment is a barrier against predators trying to reach the flamingo nests.
