We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha, for the one-hour drive to Chemka Hot Springs. The road is very bumpy and windy. Do not forget to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the authentic Tanzanian life that unfolds along the road. When we arrive, you are free to be you. Linger at the edge of the springs and enjoy the turquoise waters and lush greenery of the surrounding forest. Swim leisurely or drive lost in thought and listen to the water and birds above you. If you are adventurous, why not play with the rope swing? Playing is not just for kids! The pond is in some places up to 10 meters deep, but the water is so clear that you can see all the way down to the bottom. Eat your lunch in the shade of the trees or, if you are a sun worshiper, find a sunny spot all to yourself. You have plenty of time to discover the surroundings. Lying on the base of the mountain, Lake Natron is said to be the only breeding area for the endangered Lesser Flamingoes that live in the Great Rift Valley and it is believed to be the world’s most important breeding site for the Lesser Flamingoes, accounting for 75 per cent of the global population. The soda lake sits on the lowest point of the Great Rift Valley part in East Africa and is quite shallow, less than three meters deep, and varies in width depending on its water level. The temperatures in the lake mud can reach more than 40 degrees Celsius where evaporation causes high alkalinity. It is said the lake’s high alkaline environment is a barrier against predators trying to reach the flamingo nests.

Materuni waterfall At the root of Kilimanjaro Mountain, we have a village called Materuni villages are home of Chagga and when you drive to the village they will welcome you with a smile and happiness. We are sure they wish you a good day because they already know how beautiful. From the main rode is a hike for 45 min so we will recommend that you have a good shoe. On the way to the waterfall, you will walk through the rain forest and field of banana and coffee plantation and the smell of the flowey. Your guide will tell you about the culture of Chagga and show you the flower of love and forgiveness. When you have reached the Materuni waterfall you can go and swim but remember the water is really cold. It makes sense because the water is coming from the glacier of Kilimanjaro. If you like to swim under the waterfall you can tray but the steam from the water is really strong so be careful but we know it is possible. Just have it in your mind that in Materuni you swim at your own risk.
