This is the best way to get an island introduction from your arrival at the airport, specially on an early flight. Instead of taking a regular taxi to your accommodation and having to make time until you can check-in and hassling with your luggage, take a great and long scenic transfer through one of the most important parts of the island - Sete Cidades. This is the best way to make use of your first hours in the island, specially if you are arriving in an early flight, as this will give you the chance to beat the crowds. Beginning of the tour towards the first capital of the island of São Miguel, Vila Franca do Campo, with a short stop for tasting a traditional pastry. The tour follows into the Furnas Valley, to visit the Terra Nostra Park, possibly the best example of the romantic 18th century gardens in the Azores. Here, in addition to walking through paths surrounded by vegetation from around the world, there is time to enjoy a thermal bath in the pool. The return to Ponta Delgada will be made by the North Coast, with passage and stop at miradouro do Pico do Ferro, a viewpoint with superb views of the parish and lagoa das Furnas.

With this tour you can see the full east side of the island starting on the south until we arrive to the viewpoint of Nossa Senhora da Paz, an amazing view to the coast, the ocean and to the mountains. Then we will make our way to Furnas volcano, where you will get the chance to see one of the places where the volcanic activity is most present and this is where you will be able to relax on the hotsprings of Terra Nostra, and also see and taste the famous "cozido" - the stew that is cooked underground with the heat from the volcano! After lunch, we will go to the first settlement of the island - Povoação - inside of an extinct volcano and then, leaving this beautiful place, we go through Nordeste which is the most eastern point of the Island and known for its pristine gardens and flowers. You will get to have several views over the coast and even see a waterfall. The final stop of this tour will be the local tea plantations - the only one in Europe that produces green & black tea.

The tour is made comfortably in a jeep Land Rover properly equipped for the purpose and is perfect for those who want to have a off-road experience in São Miguel Island. This jeep tour will start in the southeastern part of the island, in the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades, visiting Lagoa das Empadadas, Cumeeira Grande; Muro das Nove das Janelas; Sete Cidades village and Vista do Rei viewpoint. Walking Tour Fogo Lake allows you to discover one of the best lakes in São Miguel Island. This tour starts at 9AM with pick up included at hotels in Ponta Delgada.
