Situated at around 6,000 feet in elevation and just 45 minutes from Moab, Dead Horse Point offers a thrilling ride along moderate to intermediate single-track trails. These trails feature rolling terrain and breathtaking overlooks of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. This adventure is ideal for riders with some prior mountain biking experience. The tour includes a high-quality mountain bike, helmet, park entrance fees, and snacks. The entire experience, including travel time, lasts between 4 to 5 hours and covers roughly 10 miles, though this may vary depending on your ability and fitness level.

Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This half day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

Arches National Park is home to the highest concentration of natural arches anywhere in the world. Contained within it’s 76,518 acres are well over 2,000 documented arches! While impossible to see all of them in one visit, our guides will take you on a tour of the most impressive and awe-inspiring geologic formations in the park. Learn about how these ancient sand dunes first turned to stone and are continually eroding into arches, fins, domes and canyons.

We will visit at least two world class locations for photography in Utah's Canyonlands in the morning (sunrise), as well as several great spots in iconic Arches National Park in the afternoon (sunset). I have traveled extensively in search of amazing photographic locations, and it is hard to beat Arches, Dead Horse Point and the Islands in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. I will show you great locations, and make suggestions on photographic composition and subject matter. I can even help you with your camera settings if you are a beginner. We will take a break for lunch (not included) during the middle of the day when the light is not as good.

Experience a private desert sunset and watch the last of the light kiss the night atop a secluded high cliff inside Arches National Park. Our hidden sunset location offers a way to experience the most special moment of the day away from the massive park crowds in a way that few visitors do. Beyond and high above Landscape Arch lies an enchanted area, one of the most magical places in the park. Your visit to the upper reaches of the Devil’s Garden requires a short, but steep climb up a picturesque sandstone fin (could be an issue for some with a fear of heights or range of motion issues). Part of the hike takes place after sunset with limited natural light.
