I am a local historian and naturalist who has lived in the area for over 50 years. I consider myself an interpreter of nature adding color to the already stunning beauty you'll see. We'll concentrate on the myriad wildlife, the diverse biology, and incredible geology of the Rockies. We'll also get insight into what it might have been like for early pioneers and lodge keepers as well as indigenous people like the Arapaho, Cheyenne, and Ute. My tours are completely flexible so if you want to hike for 3 or 4 miles, great! Or if you just want sit back and relax and enjoy the view that's fine too! Either way we'll stop often to photograph and talk about the amazing sights.

Pryography is an art technique that involves using high temperatures to 'draw' designs and patterns in to wood, and also add shading and texture to the working surface. In this Inspired Art Studio class, participants will learn the basics of this art form while creating 4 different wood art pieces, using Colorado Wildlife and the Rocky Mountain Landscape as inspiration. These pieces will then be assembled into a wall hanging or mobile art piece that can be hung in the creators home to as a souvenir of their time spent in the Colorado Rockies.

Our Rocky Mountain Tour starts you in the lower valley meadows, then takes you on a journey up iconic roads that are open for your visit (Trail Ridge Road – June, or off-road on Old Fall River Road July - Sep.) where you will see beautiful mountain views & waterfalls, we’ll make a short stop at the highest visitor center in the US National Park system, and drive back down the highest continuous paved road in the United States, Trail Ridge Road, on our way back to Estes Park. This tour is NOT a hiking tour, and focuses more on driving in the National Park with small strolls throughout. We are only able to offer pickup for guests staying in Estes Park. This is a great tour if you are focused on wildlife and a little nervous about heights! We cover all the lower valley key areas such as Sheep lakes, Alluvial Fan Waterfall, Moraine Park, and either Sprague or Bear Lake. The views are amazing and this is typically where you will find most of the wildlife. All tours are interpretive and get you to areas most people drive past. We give you plenty of time at each stop for photos and to enjoy the beauty. This is a follow the tour guide tour. Customer must have their own car.

On our tour, you'll see a frozen waterfall, we'll drive up the iconic Trail Ridge Road as far as it is opened for the season, go sledding for up to an hour at the Hidden Valley snowplay area, if conditions allow, walk around a frozen Bear Lake or Sprague Lake (both flat & less than a mile), and you'll also visit the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center at the end of your tour. Alpine Visitors Centre Tour - This is a great tour if you wish to cover all 3 ecosystems. We start in the lower valley and get you right up to the Alpine Visitors Centre at 11,796 feet. You will encounter breathtaking views, but remember to layer up and bring warm clothes as there is usually snow at the top year round. We get you to the areas most people drive past and give you extra time at each stop for photos. Tours are interpretive and we leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.

This class is a fun and relaxing introduction to learning how to use Alcohol Inks to create beautiful landscapes inspired by the Rocky Mountains. It's great for families and special events as well as those just interested in learning something new. Easier to work with than watercolor and incredibly vibrant, every participant will leave with a matted, finished piece they are proud of and is ready to be framed and hung in their home.

This is a fun project that will 'inspire' your holiday season! Using shrinky-dink and model magic, make a water-less snow globe with your choice of seasonal theme.

GRAND TETON, YELLOWSTONE WILDLIFE, SCENIC, HISTORY TOURS. On this epic two day tour of the two parks, you could see moose, bison, elk, mule deer, pronghorn, black bears, Grizzlies, wolves, swans, bald eagles, foxes, coyotes. We will present a brief settlement history of Jackson Hole, as well as geology, scenic tours. We shall hike to Hidden Falls. Stops in the Tetons include Signal Mountain and several other historic and scenic stops. The approach is the same in Yellowstone. However, we shall touch on the brief history of the super volcano of Yellowstone, that way you will have a better understanding of why you will see fumaroles, geysers, hot springs and mud pots. Tours include Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, Waterfalls at the Artist Point, wildlife watching in Hayden Valley, the mud volcano and Lake Yellowstone.

We will explore and photograph the appropriately named Wild Basin in Rocky Mountain National Park. We will hike along the North Saint Vrain Creek, and stop along the way to photograph several waterfalls (including Copeland Falls, Calypso Cascades and Ouzel Falls). Bring your tripod and a polarizer filter, and I will demonstrate my techniques for capturing waterfalls and other moving water in a variety of lighting conditions, and help you capture great silky water photographs. The full hike to Ouzel Falls is about 5.5 miles (9 km) round trip, with just under 1,000' elevation gain. For those not able to do the full hike, we will do a more leisurely hike to Calypso Cascades (about 3.6 miles round trip, and about 700' of elev. gain), which still takes you deep into a beautiful area, with multiple falls, and wildflowers and fall color in season. Don't have a RMNP timed entry reservation? No need! My commercial use permit means we don't need an advance permit!

Jump in the jeep and ride to a secluded corridor of Rocky Mountain National Park. Explore spectacular mountain scenery, a wide variety of abundant wildlife, and miles of hiking trails and scenic drives. Some walking may be involved in the tour and most of the walking areas are stroller accessible, which can be carried in the cab of the jeep, or a wheelchair person could join if they can manage getting in/out of a regular jeep. We are aware that any activity can be strenuous when performed at high altitudes. As such, no activities are mandatory, and can be omitted from your particular day with us.

This day hiking adventure is for women ages 18 years and older and takes us to Ouzel Falls which is a stunning 40-foot waterfall in the backcountry of Rocky Mountain National Park. We'll start in the remote Wild Basin and travel through dense pine forest while following a mountain stream and passing multiple waterfalls up to our main destination Ouzel Falls. If you love glacier-fed mountain streams, waterfalls, wild flowers, and wild life, you'll love this hike.

This project is a fun introduction into the many different uses for metal as an art medium. It's an usual project, but a lot of fun!
