At 4,566 m Mt Meru is the fifth highest mountain on the African continent and the second highest in Tanzania. About 250,000 years ago, a massive volcanic eruption blew away the entire eastern flank of the mountain and left it with the distinctive appearance it has today. On our trip you will learn the long journey of the coffee from seed to cup. The farm delivering coffee to us is all organic and Fairtrade. Why is that important? Usually the farmers gets a low payment for the coffee. Sometimes its not enough to get their children to school. We pay the farmers 3 times the normal price.
