The Materuni Waterfall tour starts with a walk through the area adjacent to the waterfall, rich in beautiful natural scenery of Tanzania. It is an opportunity to see how local fruit like avocados, mangos, lemons, and bananas grow, as well as learn some of the local history, traditions, village economy, agricultural and cultural life. When you get to the waterfall, you can refresh yourself in the natural pool, so swimsuits will come in handy! The tour will continue with a visit to the local village lying in the coffee plantations. The villagers will demonstrate the process of coffee farming and guide you through the preparation of coffee from a bean to a cup. Sing and dance along with the Chaga people as they are grinding, roasting and boiling the beans. When the coffee is ready, villagers will serve lunch - a national Chagga meal.

The Lemosho Route commences on the western side of Kilimanjaro, providing breathtaking views of Mt Meru and Kenya’s Amboseli National Park plains. The first day entails a trek through a dense rainforest, which gradually thins out as you ascend. By day two, you can already spot the glistening summit of Kilimanjaro in the distance. On the third day, the route converges with the Machame Route, and a long, yet gratifying, journey lies ahead until you reach the summit. This 8-day trek includes an additional day, allowing you to acclimatize more effectively, thereby increasing your chances of reaching the peak. The following morning after breakfast, you will go to Lake Eyasi and visit Datoga and Hadzabe villages and learn about their cultures, their ways of life, and how the Hadzabe hunt and the Datoga do ironwork. That evening you will spend the night in Karatu and the following morning you will enter the Ngorongoro Crater and witness the amazing wildlife that it is home to. Then in the late afternoon, you will head back to Arusha to your residence.

Climbing Kilimanjaro via Machame is very scenic but slightly challenging. Often called the Whiskey Route this is a scenically beautiful trail, longer and much gentler than Umbwe or Marangu. Despite being a tough climb compared to the Marangu route, the Machame route has one of the highest summit success rates given the topography of the route which allows climbers to “trek high & sleep low” hence making it a more favorable route for acclimatization. This hike takes 7 Days although an extra day at Shira or Karanga valley is recommended for better acclimation. This route is much quiter route as opposed to Marangu and involves a rather gradual ascent unlike that on Umbwe Route. The walking is rather tiring. However, our itinerary is designed to provide valuable acclimatization by having shorter walking days during the trek.

6 DAYS KILIMANJARO CLIMBING VIA MACHAME TOURE “ THE WHISKY ROUTE” Machame is the climbing route which is more difficult route than the Marangu route. The route is known to be the most scenic route of the Kilimanjaro Mountain as it gives the climber an experience of the scenic view. The route is well known due to the success rate of summit for the climbers at it gives a great time for acclimatization on the ascending to the Lover tower and descending to Baranco before heading up to Karanga and the Barafu to the Summit. With this route on second day you will join other climbers from Lemosho and Shira routes before heading to the lover tower up to the summit and descending through the Mweka gate as it is different from the Marangu route, the ascending route for Machame route is not the same as the descending route, as you will be ascending via the Machame route and descending via the Mweka route to Mweka gate. The six days ascending and descending of the Kilimanjaro Mountain.
