This is a six-days excursion encompassing some of Tanzania’s world-class highlights. We set out from Arusha, in the shadow of mighty Mount Meru, with Tarangire as the first stop. The landscape in this national park, the country’s third-largest, is diverse and its river draws in all manner of wildlife. We will visit the stunning Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks.

The seven day Machame variation is the ideal schedule for this route. On the 7 day Machame route, the trek from Barranco to Barafu is broken up into two days, allowing for a short day just prior to the summit attempt. This is important because summit day begins very early, around midnight, so climbers are sleep deprived going into the toughest day on the mountain. By having a short day beforehand, climbers can be better rested. The 7 day Machame route is highly recommended and used by most prominent Kilimanjaro operators.

Serengeti National Park is perhaps the most famous wildlife reserve in the world, with its horizons filled with wildebeests and zebras. The lion population here is the largest of any park in the region, if not all of Africa. But for sheer density of big cats, nothing beats the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet. These are Tanzania’s finest parks and we give you a choice to begin this Africa safari adventure at either Lake Manyara or Tarangire National Parks. Manyara is a colorful jewel, filled with thousands of pink flamingoes settled on the shores of a cobalt blue lake. Tarangire is known for its elephants, lots of migrating wildlife, and few tourists. If Marangu is the “Coca Cola” route, then the Machame Route is the “Whiskey” route. It is the second most popular and one of the most scenic routes on the mountain. All climbers sleep in tents (tents are included) and meals are served in a dinner tent or on a blanket outside. It is done over 6 days, so acclimatization is easier, and the success rate is fairly high. It is for physically fit people with some hiking experience. Descent is down the Mweka trail staying at the Mweka or Millennium camp the final night on the mountain.

Machame route is also know as “Whiskey Route“, Its tougher compared to Marangu Route but the most scenic. As for scenery, the Machame route is very spectacular eg Shira Plateau, the Lava Tower, the Barranco Wall… Machame route has higher success rates 60% make to Summit. Its most popular and most crowded. The seven day leaves plenty of time to recover, acclimatise and get ready for summit. The Machame route is more strenuous often steeper, many ups and downs, cross many valleys and ridges, and its camping. Not Hut accommodation.

The Marangu Route, often referred to as the "Coca-Cola Route," is a classic trail that provides a relatively easy pathway to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Renowned for its convenience and well-maintained huts, this route offers trekkers a unique experience that blends stunning natural beauty with rich cultural insights.

It is a popular destination for day trip visitors who are about to embark from the town of Arusha on longer northern circuit safaris. The small national park includes the slopes, summit, and ash cone of Mt. Meru, the Momela Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater, and the lush highland forests that blanket its lower slopes. Game viewing around the Momela Lakes is at a laid-back and quiet pace, and while passing through the forest many visitors stop to search for troupes of rare colubus monkeys playing in the canopy. Passing first through wooded savannah where buffalos and giraffes are frequently encountered, the ascent of Meru leads into forests aflame with red-hot pokers and dripping with Spanish moss, before reaching highly open heath spiked with giant lobelias. A dormant volcano that last erupted in 1910, it is Tanzania's second highest mountain at 4566 metres (14,979 ft). Taking only 3 or 4 days to climb it is perfect for those wanting to get a taste of high altitude trekking without going too high before or after going on safari.
