It's an island connected with Crete with a narrow and shallow strip of sand, forming an 8km long beach. The road to get there goes through gorges, picturesque villages and other points of interest! The aim of this tour is not only to visit a beach, but the trip to get there is an experience itself. On the way we will visit various locations of historical, geological and natural interest. We will stop for lunch in a restaurant at the end! Optional visit to a monastery and oil factory.

Imbros gorge is located south of Lefka Ori mountains and take less than 3 hours to cross. The hike starts from Imbros village. I will drop you off at the entrance, then pick you up at the end. Most of the hike is in the shade with a narrow trail that you cannot be lost. There is a small stream which is dry in the summer so it's good to have a sufficient supply of water. Imbros is breathtaking, ideal for nature lovers and wildlife watchers. Its ideal hike for children from 10 years old. After Imbros we will visit Frangokastello beach and stay 2 hours. We will eat in a local restaurant in front of the beach. Alternatively instead of the beach we could do a wine tasting at a winery for an hour. We could make a final optional visit to an oil factory for 30 minutes.

Wade through the knee deep water of the lagoon (sometimes the channel closes and you can walk all the way without having to get your feet wet) and head to the island. There are many small beaches on the South side and the further you walk the quieter it gets. The water is generally quite shallow and safe for children.
