As everything is on walking distance, you can take a look at traditional products or meet local hospitable people. Our next stop, Frangokastello, is famous for its Venetian castle, the beautiful sandy beach and Drosoulites, the shadows of soldiers which appear there at dawn each May. If hiking the Samaria Gorge feels too challenging, the Imbros Gorge offers a gentler alternative. This 8-kilometer trail is less strenuous but equally captivating. Imbros is the second most popular gorge in Crete, running parallel to the Samaria Gorge. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to hike, with the narrowest part just 1.60 meters wide. The first half-hour descends through wildflower meadows before narrowing dramatically. Legend has it that two brothers banished from Imbros in Turkey settled here, naming the gorge. Historically, it served as the main route between Chania and Chora Sfakion and was a critical evacuation path for British soldiers during WWII. The trek ends at Komitades, where you can relax at a local café. From there, we continue to Chora Sfakion for a swim and lunch by the Libyan Sea. The tour includes hotel pick-up and a guide who will share insights about the area's flora and history.

The unique beach in Preveli is an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation. We drive by bus from Rethymno and from Damnoni we travel around 20 minutes by boat to reach this beautiful area. The river of Preveli leading to the beach has small streams and ponds. It is surrounded by high cliffs and a magical palm tree forest which was inhabited during the 70’ties by hippies from all over the world. And no wonder – the place invites to peace and harmony. YOLO – so leave all your worries behind and enjoy a day on the beach under the palms.

It's a route through small traditional villages with a panoramic view along the way where you will have the opportunity to visit the wonderful seaside village of Palaiochora and swim to the crystal clear waters and finally, you will have the chance to taste and know about the olive oil and winemaking process. On this beautiful 9-hour trip we will need 3 hours & 15 minutes driving total.

Crete has an uncountable amount of gorges. Some famous-like Samaria- some unknown by tourist crowds, but not less impressive! Al the gorges have their own charms and difficulty levels. We would like to take you to the aria of Kissamos to the gorge of Polyrinnia. FLORA and FAUNA In the gorge you will meet a lot of trees such as, olive, plane, chestnut and a lot of species. We are mostly lucky to see the Griffons flying above our heads.

On this excursion from Rethymno or Chania you’ll marvel at natural wonders throughout the day, from the White Mountains to thousand-year-old forests and more. Your driver will you explain all the necessary information about your hike and provide you the tickets for the entrance and ferry boat. After your breakfast you enter the Samaria Gorge. This is a private tour with a 7-seater van for a maximum 6 guests. We will tour around Akrotiri peninsula. First visit the historic monasteries of Agia Triada and Gouverneto. They played an active role in the local history. We will marvel the magnificent architecture and structure of the monasteries and explore their rich history. Being religious myself, I can explain many things regarding the traditions and practices of the Orthodox faith. Next stop we will relax for two hours by the crystal clear waters of Aegean sea in the quiet beautiful bay of Stavros. On the way back we will stop at Venizelos graves to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Chania. There is an optional visit of famous Chania old town, a 2-hour hike to the Cave of Arkoudiotisa and later to Katholiko, an ancient monastic community or wine tasting at a monastery.
