We'll kick off with a short drive towards Petra tou Romiou – as Aphrodite's Rock is known locally. Watch the sun sink over this mythical sea stack and burnish the sky while sipping on a sparkling wine. ‘A celebration in honour of the goddess,' as Alexia says. You'll then head to the village of Kouklia, a short drive inland from the coast, for a Cypriot dinner with a difference. A first sight, it's a typical family-run taverna. You'll get to savour just about every Cypriot dish you could possibly wish for. The emphasis is on pure ingredients and traditional meze – cooked the way they've been for generations – washed down with local wines. But in summer evenings, the family takes over the street, hosting feasts of folkloric music and dancing. Let your hair down and join the locals with some boogying and shaking on the outdoor terrace. As nights out go, it's a showstopper.

Kyrenia is situated on the slopes of the Kyrenia Mountains and is surrounded by beautiful landscapes of pine forests, olive groves, and citrus orchards. The city's historic center is filled with narrow streets, traditional buildings, and historic landmarks. One of the main attractions in Kyrenia is the Kyrenia Castle, which was originally built by the Byzantines in the 7th century and later expanded by the Venetians and Ottomans. The castle now houses a museum with exhibits on the city's history and culture. Another showplace in Kyrenia is the St. Hilarion Castle, This medieval castle is perched on a hilltop overlooking Kyrenia and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The first stop will be Choirokoitia for a coffee break before continuing to Strovilia check point (passports necessary) to cross the United Nations Green Line. We will arrive at the monastery of St Barnabas which has now been converted into a museum housing icons and other religious artefact. We will also see the tomb of St Barnabas. We continue to the ancient Kingdom of Salamis built in the 12th Century BC and visit the amphitheatre and gymnasium. We arrive in the city of Famagusta with its many Gothic churches and surrounded by Venetian walls. There will be time to visit the Cathedral of St Nikolaos built in 1312 and converted in 1570 into a mosque as well as free time for sightseeing, shopping, and lunch (not included). Finally, we will stop to view the “Ghost Town – Varosi” to see the abandoned houses and hotels which have been closed off behind wire since 1974 and admire the best sandy beaches of the island

Try something different? This day might surprise you. The seaside town of Limassol is a highlight where you can give your credit card a workout in the old town. From high street and designer names to traditional craft shops. Have a wander down by the shiny new marina, or stop for lunch at a pavement café

Spanning vast meadows, orchards and thick forests filled with birdlife, the landscapes of the Troodos Mountains are ever-changing. And there's no better way to explore them than by 4x4. On this full-day tour, you'll see Omodos, Aphrodite's Rock and much more. The day starts with a quick stop by the Big Rock, before journeying deep into the Troodos Forest to visit the photogenic Tzelefos Bridge. Here you can join an optional mini forest hike. Then, stop at a traditional 'kafenion' to taste an authentic Cypriot coffee, before whizzing by a 20m waterfall for some Instaworthy snaps. Once you've built up an appetite, lunch will be served in a nearby tavern. Afterwards, you'll head to the village of Omodos, right in the heart of Limassol's wine growing region. Drop into a café or visit the 17th-century Monastery of the Holy Cross. Rounding the day off is a visit to Petra tou Romiou, better known as Aphrodite's Rock, where you can take a swim or kick back on the sprawling sands.
