PUMAS RESCUE CENTER We save and raises ocelots, jaguars, cougars, margays, jaguarundis and tiger cats. Most of the cats in this facility have been rescued from injury or were oephanaed. The shelter today generally has around 80 to 100 individual animals under its care, many of which are endangered species. The shelter the visitor can photograph the normally-elusive jaguar and five other species of native Costa Rican felines: puma (also known as cougar and mountain lion, depending on where it is found), ocelot, oncilla and margay. This tour is available for all ages. Ages between 7 years old to 60 years old senior people. IMPORTANT NOTE: Small groups in this tour . Tour duration with roundtrip transportation from hotels to both tours and lunch are around 4 to 5 hours. Walking duration total are 1 hour and 45 minutes roundtrip by the trails. Clients take a truck ride from the parking area to the hiking trail. 2 miles roundtrip hiking. Hiking is extreme and require good physical conditions, hiking shoes or sneakers (NO FLIP FLOPS). Brings towels, comfortable clothes, raincoat, insect repellent, sunblock, extra clothes and cash for extras. IMORTANT NOTE: Hike at the waterfall La Leona are really extreme because you have to climb stairs up and down the rocks and vines, streams to get to the waterfall.
