During the 5-6 hours trip, you will see really amazing places and landmarks, starting from our meeting point St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, then going by car/van to the breathtaking, 186-metre tall TV tower - Kopitoto ("The Hoof"), situated on top of Vitosha mountain at 1,348 m altitude. You will have unique opportunity to walk around the cliff and take stunning pictures of Sofia from the TOP :)! Next stop will be the popular UNESCO heritage - about 900 years old - Boyana Church. After the visit we go to a very nice traditional Bulgarian restaurant. When we finish our lunch (not included) we will go to another amazing place in the nature - Pancharevo lake and the hot spring mineral pools there :)! Regardless of the weather you will have the pleasure to dip yourself in the hot mineral waters in a outdoor swimming pool with a magnificent view of the lake :)! We will spend 1-2 hours there and then we will bring you back to the starting point in Sofia - St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral :)!

During this day tour you will have the chance to learn more about the mysterious Thracians, best known for the mythical hero Orpheus (ancient musician and thinker), Spartacus (Roman slave and gladiator, and leader of the famous slave revolt), as well as for the oldest golden treasure in the world. We will visit 5 of the masterpieces of the Thracian burial architecture, one of which UNESCO site, as well as the History Museum in Kazanlak. During our day of Thracian heritage exploration, we will have the chance to admire the picturesque landscape, which obviously was highly valued by the Thracians as well.

An English-speaking guide will pick you up from the meeting point in Sofia at 9:00AM and, after about a 2-hours drive with various landscapes to admire along the way, you will reach the Serbian border. After crossing the border you will go the nearby town of Bosilegrad (the former Yugoslavia's main state) before you cross back over the border with Bulgaria and head for Northern Macedonia. After another short drive, you will arrive at the beautiful Monastery of Osogovo – an incredibly powerful place in the hills from the 12th Century, which was later turned into a mosque by the Ottomans, and then again converted into a church. This place is very scenic and peaceful - take time to go for a walk around the area. Afterwards, you will have lunch in a nice restaurant with good Macedonian grill (meat or fish) and Skopsko beer, of course. Please note that the total driving time is around 5 hours.

9.40 am Arrive at Rila monastery Deep in the Rila Mountain in the southwestern part of Bulgaria, about 1h 30min drive from Sofia is situated the biggest symbol of Christianity in Bulgaria- Rila Monastery. The Monastery was founded by the hermit St. Ivan Rilski in the beginning of the X century. The monastery is the most visited cultural site in Bulgaria. Part of UNESCO. Lunch is available at a restaurant along the Rilska river, 20 minutes from the monastery. After our immersion in ancient times, we will go to a winery named "Medy valley" to taste the fruits of this holy mountain. There we can find some local grape varieties like "Rubin" and "Shiroka Melnishka". Тhe winery has spectacular mountain views 3.00 pm Arrive at the church. Last but not least, we will visit the very special Boyana church- аnоther UNESCO world Heritage Site. Boyana Church for short, is famous for its remarkable medieval frescoes, among which the images from 1259. That means 50years before Giotto.

Sofia became the capital of restored Bulgaria in 1879, with a population of only about 12,000.
