The Phoenix/Tucson Box Canyon Tour is in Florence, AZ, halfway between Tucson and Phoenix on State Route 79. Driving time from either city is approximately 1.5 hours from either City . Our trail is about 34 miles in length and 3.25 hours in duration. Elevation gain and descent is over 1500 vertical feet as we climb up and over the front range of the Pinal Mountains. Along the tour your guide will point out Indian petroglyphs left over from the ancient Native Americans. Another viewpoint is an old adobe building that served as a way station for the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach Company during the 1860’s Express on what was know as the “Butterfield The real highlight of the tour is Box Canyon. The middle 3 miles is slot canyon with walls that are about 1500 feet high on both sides and only about 15-20 feet apart in some places. This tour departs the Deer Valley airport in Phoenix. It includes spectacular views of the Tonto National Forest, the Verde River, the Red Rock formations of Sedona, the San Francisco Peaks, the Painted Desert and the Navajo Indian Reservation. The flight continues on a scenic over-flight of the Grand Canyon on a route that only a few companies are allowed to fly. After the overflight, the tour lands at the Grand Canyon airport, located just minutes from the entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park. Your ground tour is provided by a professional tour guide who will take you to scenic overlooks inside the Grand Canyon National Park. Your last stop will be in the Grand Canyon Historic Village where you may visit various lodges and other shops and galleries, all of which are located along the Rim, making it easy to see the Grand Canyon from many different vantage points. Optional box lunch is available for purchase.

Begin your air tour with a one hour flight from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. Along the way, enjoy the view from the air as you pass over the Tonto National Forest; make a scenic pass through the Red Rock formations of Sedona; and soar past the San Francisco Peaks, Painted Desert and the Navajo Indian Reservation before arriving at the Grand Canyon. Continuing right over the Rim, you begin the scenic overflight of the Grand Canyon’s widest and deepest point, on a route that only a few are allowed to fly. This 20-30 minute overflight of one of nature’s most spectacular sights will give you a view of the Grand Canyon seen by only a handful of people as you fly 1,000 feet above the south rim and about equal to the north rim. After completing the overflight of the Grand Canyon, enjoy a short, one hour flight back to Phoenix by a more direct route.

The Monument Valley tour includes Sedona, Meteor Crater, and Monument Valley. It begins with a scenic, narrated, flight through the Red Rock formations of Sedona. It then takes in the San Francisco Peaks and the Painted Desert. The tour continues and may make a brief stop in Page, Arizona, located along the shores of Lake Powell (depending on aircraft). That drive takes us through quite a bit of cactus filled desert scenery and also passes through the city of Tucson. Once in Tombstone, you will have opportunity to visit all the best spots that make Tombstone the town too tough to die. First, a visit to the Tombstone Courthouse Museum for history of the town, the mining, and the gallows. Next, spend the afternoon exploring Allen Street including the OK Corral, and more.
