Despite the small size of the park, common animals include giraffe, buffalo, zebra, warthog, the black-and-white colobus monkey, the blue monkey, flamingos and more. African elephants and leopards are present, but rarely seen. The park is at the base of Mount Meru, which is good for climbing. Birdlife in the forest is prolific, with many forest species more easily seen here. Though very accessible, Arusha NP isn't on many safari itineraries. This is mainly because it doesn't offer a chance of seeing the Big 5. It has a range of habitats including forest – home to the black-and-white colobus monkey – and is excellent for birding.

The Arusha National Park, is a small (137 sq km) but beautiful African park. It is the closest Tanzanian National Wildlife Park to both the famous “safari town” of Arusha (32 km), as well as the Kilimanjaro International Airport, thus making it ideal for day safaris, even from Moshi (65 km). The park main gate is 25km north east of Arusha city. It is also 58 km from Moshi Town. The park is small(542 sq kilometers) but varied with spectacular landscapes in three distinct areas. In the west, the Meru Crater funnels the Jekukumia River; the peak of Mount Meru lies on its rim. Ngurudoto Crater in the south-east is grassland The shallow alkaline Momella Lakes in the north-east have varying algael colours and are known for their wading birds. The park is very small in size but rich in varieties of wildlife which provide a good game-sighting as in normal Parks in Northern circuit. You certainly can’t climb Kilimanjaro in a day, but our day tour to this iconic, snow-capped mountain will give you an excellent taster of why Africa’s highest peak is so popular. On our trip you will learn the long journey of the coffee from seed to cup. The farm delivering coffee to us is all organic and Fairtrade. Why is that important? Usually the farmers gets a low payment for the coffee. Sometimes its not enough to get their children to school. We pay the farmers 3 times the normal price.
