In my class, I will not only teach you how to write beautifully, but also how to experience the joy of carving a handcrafted seal. You can create a design with your name by a carving tool on a small stone. During this activity, you will experience healing through the slow analog, tactile sensibility of everyday life. First, I show two ways to engrave the seal and demonstrate how to carve with a carving knife. Next, I show the way to design the names and help to design according to syllable of name. You go for it and then cover with ink of Korean style and take a stamp. Once the engraving is over, you can choose an elegant case for your stone seal. When you return home, you'll enjoy looking at the stamp you carved and remembering your travels. I'll write down a message for you in K-calligraphy after you have stamped your seal on a postcard I prepare. My program has also been featured on Watcher, on American YouTube channel on August 2024.

It takes approximately one hour and a half to reach Imjingak Pyeonghwa Nuri-Park, where you can witness the lasting impact of the Korean War. On this tour, you will visit the Buddhist temple in the city, the Presidential Blue House Square and Gyeongbokgung Palace for 3.5 hours with a small group. First, you will visit Jogyesa temple that represents Buddhism in Seoul and pass by the Cheongwadae, the Presidential Blue House, that symbol of with blue tiles and move on to Gwanghwamun Gate to see the royal guard changing ceremony. After the ceremony, you will explore Gyeongbokgung Palace that is also referred to as the northern palace. Also you will visit a museum called the National Folk Museum, where you can see how Koreans from a few centuries ago lived.

Korean alcohol is a lot more than just a green bottle of soju, which is diluted ethanol with artificial sweetener. Broadly, Korean alcohols are divided into Tak-ju (unfiltered rice wine), Cheong-ju (filtered clear rice wine) and So-ju (distilled spirit). Here, we will focus on our specialty, soju, but we can also taste other types too. Samhae soju was a beloved choice of spirit among the noble class of Joseon dynasty(1392~1894). This luxurious alcohol had caused cult following, but the making was so resource(rice)-heavy that production had to stop during famines. The current master, Hyeonjong Kim had learned and practiced for more than 10 years under master Taeksang Kim who had inherited and kept the recipe in the family. Second, we’ll go to Dora observatory where we can see the view of North Korea. Finally, we will visit Unification Village where you can buy DMZ souvenirs. You can understand the history of the division of Korea through the DMZ tour. After the DMZ tour, we will guide you to the Gamak Mountain Chulleong Suspension Bridge. Take a closer look by using free binoculars installed at Dora observatory. try to find the statues of North Korean founder and his son, Gaesung City, Villages and N.K people.
