The historic Salt Mine is located about 10 km from Krakow and is on the first UNESCO World Heritage List (1978). The current mine was established ad the turn off 18 and 19 century (though mining history reaches antiquity here). The tourist route goes through the most interesting places in the mine that consists of 22 chambers which are connected by salt pathways of lenght about 3 km. Chambers are located at depth 64 to 135 meters underground.

You will visit 2 parts of the Camp: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II - Birkenau. The salt mine in Wieliczka is famous for being Europe’s oldest salt mine, which has been operating for at least 700 years. Wieliczka’s salt mine is a unique tourist attraction, and is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List (listed among the twelve top sites).
