This is an absolutely unique tour. The Q'eswachaka bridge is located across the Apurimac river, at about (3,900m/ 13,000 feet), in Canas province. This handwoven grass bridge spans 120 feet, and is rebuilt every one or two years as communal effort by all the local people of the region. About 700 men and women form the communities Huinchiri, Ccollana come to Q'eswachaka to a Fiesta that celebrates the construction of the bridge. The final day of the fiesta is the second Sunday in June, where you can see typical dances and walk across the completed bridge. You can also visit the bridge site, in the days preceding, to see the bridge building in progress. The weaving and construction techniques have passed from generation to generation since the bridge was first built by the Incas. It is the only remaining example of an “Inca” hanging bridge that can be seen today.

Mostly consisting of several enormous terraced circular depressions, the largest of which is about 100 meters deep. but their depth and orientation with respect to wind and sun creates a temperature difference. During the pre-Incas time, salt has been obtained in Maras by evaporating of salty water. The highly salty water has been flowing from this nearby stream for hundreds of years. As the salt water becomes supersaturated, salt crystals begin precipitating out of the water. The farmers then scrape the salt to the side and collect it once a sizable amount has been gathered. There are more than 3,000 salt-pools.

We pick you up from the hotel between 4 am in our private transport to go to Mollepata, we will arrive in 2 hours approximately to this small town, the we will have breakfast to start our hike towards Humantay Lake. We will continue in our transport for approximately 1 more hour until Soraypampa which is located at 3900 msnm. Our guide will give you some recommendations to start the trek to Humantay Lake located at 4200 msnm Which is very close to the mountain Salkantay. We start the hike to Humantay Lake for approximately 1 hour and half; enjoying the beautiful views of the snowy mountains Salkantay and Humantay. When we reach Laguna Humantay we will enjoy the beautiful turquoise lagoon. Later you will enjoy a small snack watching the beautiful landscapes, continue the walk back to Soraypampa. In the afternoon we will arriving to Mollepata and have the lunch. After lunch we return to Cusco in our private transport. We will arrived in Cusco around 7:00 pm ; we drop you at your hotel.
