This breathtaking Salkantay trek takes you through diverse landscapes and altitudes, as we trek around the skirts of Mount Salkantay (6271m/20,568ft) and camp within sight of the snowcapped peaks. We ascend to reach the famous Apacheta Pass at (4,600m/15,088ft) and descend into a tropical area passing Andenes and Chaullay on the far side of the mountain. This Salkantay trek includes: a train ride from the Hydroelectric Dam.  Afterwards, you will spend the rest of the 4th evening relaxing in town and the hot springs of Aguas Calientes. Early on the 5th morning, you will take the bus (or walk if desired) up to Machu Picchu and enjoy the amazing views. Although there are breathtaking views throughout the entire journey to the top, hiking Machu Picchu is an experience of a lifetime. Then, we will take a late afternoon train and catch a bus back to Cusco towards the evening.

The experience begins early in Cusco with pickup from your accommodation. We embark on a two-hour journey to Ollantaytambo, crossing Andean landscapes, traditional villages, and rivers that shape the Sacred Valley. There, the team will accompany you to the station to board the train to Aguas Calientes. The train journey, which takes almost 1 hour and 30 minutes, immerses you in a setting of mountains and high jungle. Upon arrival, a representative will greet you and guide you to the minibus, which will take you through the curves and greenery to the entrance of Machu Picchu in 25 minutes. A 3-hour guided tour takes you through temples, terraces, and viewpoints, revealing the soul of this sacred city. Back in Aguas Calientes, you'll have free time for lunch, rest, or exploring. Finally, you board the train back to Ollantaytambo, and then the transport takes you to Cusco, concluding a magical day filled with living history, nature, and a spiritual connection with the Andes.

At the top of the cliff, a crack works as a viewpoint of the whole site. The trek continues to Zone X, known for its natural rock labyrinths. After lunch en route, visit the Temple of the Moon; here you will learn more about the Andean cosmovision and its link with the stars and forces of nature. Later visit the archaeological complex of Cusilluchayoc, and after exploring it, undertake the return to Cusco, following the route of the old Inca road that went to the Antisuyo. Enter the city through San Blas, a neighbourhood known for its talented artisans, where the tour ends.
