The day begins with a nice breakfast buffet to prepare for the needed energy for the days activities. After that it will be water activities all day. We start the tour with the warm pools that have been etched onto the mountain side, later proceeding down to the turquoise thermal river for a relaxing lunch along its banks. After lunch, we will jump in to the warm waters of the river before transitioning to the glorious waterfalls and caves. Before entering the caves, we will admire the view of the waterfalls that guard the natural caves we will be exploring. In the caves we will use our lamps to walk through the warm waters extruding from within, explore the interior waterfalls, and observe the origin point of the waters that give Tolantongo it's name. Tolantongo, meaning "place of warm moving water," will prove to give you an experience in Mexico unlike any other. (River and cave exploration are contingent on good weather in days prior to allow for an optimal experience).

On this tour we like to welcome the people and introduce them into our city. People will learn abput the colors of Mexico, the magic of the people and the charm of the town. As I (Albert Coffee, vaccinated) guide you through this magical place, where I had the privilege of participating during the 2004 excavation field season, I'll share what I have gleaned through personal hands-on experience & years of study about ancient Mesoamerica, the legends & wisdom of local people. I am a graduate of Louisiana State University and federally licensed tour guide. This special tour includes years of documented legends, wisdom & memories of the elders of the ranch communities on and around the historic location. You will hear about each place and its cultural significance as you journey along the path the ancients took to reach the pyramid. I've taken 20,000+ people on tours since the site opened to the public in 2011. My passion is relating information that is just coming to light in an area recently investigated in an enjoyable way. We will begin by preparing some delicious salsas, followed by an authentic and traditional Mexican mole, tasty enmoladas, and mexican rice. You'll be educated on the ingredients, tell you about the culinary and nutritional values, and how to prepare and cook each part of the meal. We are always vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free friendly if that is an interest. We will discuss the history and cultural importance of the Mole and how it used to be the “Food of the Emperors”, reserved only for the upper class of the Mayan and Aztec society. During the lesson you will be enticed to explore your environment: the cozy den with its fireplace and library; and the surrounding courtyard with its organic gardens and gorgeous landscapes. Having prepared the delicious meal, we will sit down and dine, engaging in wonderful conversation. As welcome we will enjoy a pure cacao chocolate drink and plenty of delicious Mexican wine at all time. All while surrounded by a beautiful and tranquil environment.

The archaeological site of Cañada de la Virgen is located just 25 kilometers West of San Miguel de Allende. Occupied between 540 and 1050 a.d., it is perched upon a small mesa surrounded by canyons and is made up of four patio/pyramid complexes, an ancient artificial pond and a ceremonial causeway covering the 16 hectares that is now government property. Rancho Xotolar is a working ranch that has been in the Morin Ruiz family for over four generations. I am super passionate about San Miguel! As a tour guide musician and artist I love what makes this town a hub for creative people. Walk with me through hidden gems of San Miguel! I'll be your musical troubatourguide! We will visit one of latin America's largest art and design centers where we'll see many different styles of fine art. At some point I'll play some classic mexican songs at a quaint outdoor café, tell you stories, history and legends! Also there will be oportunities for those who whish to sing and participate with percussive instruments after which we will walk along a nature path, into side streets on the outskirts of the town then continue strolling through part of artisan's market. The day will culminate in bohemian style enjoying a late lunch of gourmet food, drinks good coversation and more music I'll play for you from Mexico and beyond! I sing in Spanish, french and English. I have the most experience in using the encaustic technique and teaching than other teachers in San Miguel de Allende. I can move from abstract to figurative painting to encourage and help students to create their own visions. Since the class is in my private studio, I have collections of materials and tools at their disposal. Because of my background in the arts, both as a teacher an exhibiting artist, I can guide and advise each person personally.
