One of the best places to visit is Ponchoto Alley, which is a narrow alleyway running from Shijo-dori to Sanjo-dori, one block west of the Kamogawa River. The alleyway is full of restaurants on both sides, offering a wide range of dining options, from cheap yakitori to traditional and modern Kyoto cuisine, foreign cuisine, and high-end establishments that require connections and a large budget. Another must-see destination is the Gion district, which is Kyoto's geisha district.
