Tour in the Charterhouse of St. Martin and Pedamentina with an art expert
The Cartherhouse of St. Martin, a former monastery complex, is the most visible landmark of Naples at the top of the Vomero hill, built in the 14th century by the son of King Robert of Naples in front of the Sant’ Elmo Castle. Walking through the cloisters and the religious areas, you reach the terrace overlooking the sea with a breathtaking panorama. The visit includes the section with the Nativity scenes, one of the most representative Neapolitan arts, the Naval section, the corridor of Carriages and the beautiful baroque church. From the square in front of the Certosa you go down to via Toledo across the Pedamentina, one of the numerous stairways of Naples with a panoramic view on the gulf, to end your guided tour in the Spanish Quarters decorated with murals work of contemporary artists, in a typical neapolitan atmosphere. Some sections could be closed for restoration works.
