From 1870 to 1945, Alsace was a major war zone between France and Germany. Through this circuit, we will discover the history of Alsatians once German, once French. We will discover remnants of these wars and will make a visit to Struthof (concentration camp at 900 meters altitude), concentration camp of Nazi Germany. For a bit of lightness, we will push our end of the circuit on one of the most beautiful panoramas of Alsace and Christian Mont Saint Odile. Alsace is home to no fewer than 51 Grand Cru terroirs, where only the four most prestigious grape varieties of the region (Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Muscat) are cultivated, with the exception of Sylvaner. The names of these terroirs are often mysterious, and the winemakers will be happy to explain their meaning and uniqueness to you. These terroirs represent the pinnacle of Alsace’s vineyards, with Grand Crus located all along the Alsace wine route, always on hillsides with optimal exposure. During your visit to the winegrowers, you'll have the opportunity to taste the different grape varieties from the Grand Cru hillsides, and sometimes even the same grape variety from several Grand Cru parcels. The winemakers will introduce you to the wines that are the pride of their estates and will delight your taste buds. These wines boast incomparable elegance and exceptional aromatic richness, drawn directly from the soil in which the vines are planted.

Our first stop is the village of Riquewihr, a typical village of the Wine Route: the facades and monuments are illuminated and the decorations amaze young and old. Eyes full of lights and a full belly, we will set out again on the Wine Route for a crossing of small Alsatian villages. Our bus will then stop in Kaysersberg, to discover this medieval village in the colors of Christmas. The Kaysersberg Christmas market traditionally welcomes you all four Advent weekends. The other days of the week you will find there a concentrate of Alsace: a historic town center filled with charm with beautiful old half-timbered houses. It will then be time to leave to go to the famous city of Colmar, where different Christmas markets dot the city and create different atmospheres depending on the neighborhood. You will be able to enjoy three hours of visit in complete freedom, punctuated by tastings of seasonal delicacies.

From Strasbourg, you will discover the famous charm of Alsatian villages and visit the 3 villages of Eguisheim, Kaysersberg & Riquewihr. We will spend the day on the Alsatian wine routes. We will visit the three famous villages, but during the day we will cross several other typical and very pretty villages. We love wines, and that's why we included in this day trip 2 Wine Tasting, the first one in Eguisheim before lunch, and the second one in Riquewihr at the end of afternoon. For lunch, we don't want you to eat a sandwich while walking on the street. We choosed a traditional restaurant. We will be sitting at the table together. The price is not included so you can take what you want at reasonable cost. A dish and a drink around 20/25 EUR per pers.
