Because it is the hottest place on Earth (125m below sea level), Dallol is a cinder cone volcano in the Denakil Depression, although its unique geology means it lacks any of the archetypal volcanoes' looks. The Danakil Depression is in the Afar region of northern Ethiopia, is one of the hottest and lowest place on the planet.
