We will head west from San Pedro de Atacama, first visiting Yerbas Buenas, an area of great historical importance, as it has one of the largest groups of petroglyphs in the region. Through this place, the indigenous caravans that traveled from the Argentine northeast and the Bolivian Altiplano crossed, and arrived as far as the Pacific Ocean. We will find very different carvings and drawings on the rock, such as llamas, camelids, birds, monkeys and dogs. Next, when crossing Matancilla, we will see the Rainbow Valley, called that way because of the different colors that the mountains have because of of minerals. On this tour we will visit a series of lagoons inside the Salar de Atacama, the largest salt flat in Chile. Our first stop will be at the famous Lagoa Cejar and Lagoa Piedra, surrounded by green and yellow grass that enhances the color of the water, contemplating the unique landscape of turquoise waters and volcanoes. On the transfer, you can enjoy a restorative bath at the Puritama Hot Springs, located 30 km from San Pedro de Atacama. Its waters originate in the Andes Mountains and reach high temperatures due to the proximity to volcanic materials. Then, they flow to the surface in the Puritama River, creating eight natural pools, surrounded by hills and native vegetation. The enclosure is equipped with dressing rooms, bathrooms and terraces in each of the pools, and the average temperature of the hot springs is 33 °C. Of the approximately 4 and a half hours that the complete activity lasts, a maximum of 2 hours is allocated for bathing in the thermal pools.
