We leave the province of Salta to enter the neighboring province of Jujuy, visiting the beautiful Quebrada de Humahuaca. Route 9 will begin the ascent, passing through the towns of Volcano (2,070 meters above sea level) and Tumbaya, which are erected on the banks of the Rio Grande. Destination consecrated as a Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO). Singular villages are shown, such as Purmamarca, famous for the location of the Seven Colors Hill, Maimará, with colorful slopes called Palette of the Painter. Tilcara stands out for its Pucará (high fortress) whose ruins have been partially destroyed. Uquía shows its chapel, built in the 17th century, carved in laminated gold, Humahuaca gives its name to the Quebrada and is its largest town, with cobbled streets and iron street lamps on the corners, it is also the highest point of the route, 2,940 meters above sea level. Main attractions: Monument to Independence, Cathedral Church and Municipal Building.

We will leave the city of Salta and begin the journey to the 14-color hill (known as the Serranías del Hornocal) to enter the province of Jujuy, where we will visit the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will pass through the village of Volcano, Purmamarca where we will find the majestic Cerro de los 7. Colores; Tilcara; Humahuaca, the largest town in the ravine; Uquía, a small town where the ancient paintings of the Arcabucero Angels reside; Huacalera, where we set foot on the imaginary cut of the Tropic of Capricorn and finally, La Palette del Pintor in Maimará. Once you arrive in Uquía, you will transfer to a 4x4 vehicle where you will begin the road to Hornocal to enjoy those magnificent panoramic views. Back you make a stop in Humahuaca for 20 minutes. It is recommended to bring food for lunch as there is no time to stop at a restaurant in Humahuaca. Return to Salta is under way.

A walk through a reddish ravine offers beautiful postcards of the foothills, a prelude to Cafayate, the heart of the Calchaquí Valley where the sun shines and the best wine awaits. Cafayate, the land of the sun and wine, is located in the Calchaquí Valley, 180 km from Salta's capital, along one of Northern Argentina's most renowned routes. Departing from Salta, you'll tour the Lerma Valley before entering the Quebrada de las Conchas Natural Reserve. A 90 km road takes you through a narrow valley surrounded by colorful hills, dominated by orange and red. In Tilcara we will make a city tour and in Huacalera we will know the monolith with the legend Tropico de Capricorn and its symbol.
