Your PRIVATE or SEMI-PRIVATE sailboat charter is hosted by Captain Dan, a licensed captain with 20 years of local sailing experience. For PRIVATE charters, call directly to make arrangements. One to Three passengers bookings are semi-Private. Four to six passengers booking are Private, depending on availability. You will board the "Wind Pirate", a very comfortable 40ft sailboat, from a private residence with parking. Complimentary bottled water & ice, as well as cups, plates and a fresh water shower are provided. You are welcome to bring food and beverage of your choice as yacht has refrigeration. Your Sailing Charter begins and ends two miles from Fort Lauderdale Beach. You will cruise down the historic Fort Lauderdale New River through Downtown. Your Fort Lauderdale Reef Fishing Charter starts off with a 10-12min cruise out to the inlet, passing through "Millionares Row", where you'll see some of the most extravagant houses and yachts in the world. The mates will come around and get everyone baited and hooked up with gear and offer advice on how to get bites. We'll usually have time to fish a few different spots (wrecks, reefs, different depths & zones). When it's time to come in, we'll return through the inlet where you'll have a chance to take some pictures with the fish. Upon return to the dock the mates bring all the fish to the cleaning table where they will do free fish cleaning and recommend some good restaurants that will cook your fish for you. This is a great trip to go out and try some deep sea fishing, enjoy beautiful views of the coast and have some luck catching some good eating fish. You will be fishing for snapper, grouper, grunts, porgies and other small game fish.

Coconut Cove was once a mangrove and buttonwood swamp until the late 1920's, when the U.S. Army Corp. of engineers was granted permission to deposit the fill while dredging the Intracoastal. The fill caused the swamp to perish, which prompted Mr. Bartlett to plant rows of Coconut Palms where the current Bonnet House parking lot exists. The property is a blend of native and exotic flora including a desert garden, Orchid House, Shell Museum, Fruit Groves, Freshwater Slough, Wild Coffee, Silver Palms, Coontie Plants shaded by Gumbo Limbo, Seagrapes, Sabal Palms, and Paradise Trees to name just a few splendors in addition to the 1920 Bonnet House Museum with it's incredible architecture built around a Fountain Garden and displaying art, sculptures, and collectibles from all over the world. It is truly the last of Old Florida in the present day and a celebration of the protected history and the legacy of Frederic Clay and Evelyn Barlett's vision and talent.
