Chicago is the pride of the United States, a city built to conquer. There's probably no area in which it doesn't excel: culture, sports, science, politics – it's all here. What's more, there are a lot of "mosts" and "firsts" here – not just in America, but around the world. After all, Chicago is the birthplace of jazz and skyscrapers, the capital of the legendary Mafia, and the nation's second-largest business center.
When asked what to see in Chicago, most people would say skyscrapers without thinking twice. And they would be absolutely right – it is impossible to see them without taking a Chicago tour or just walking around the city. But few people who come here know that the architectural boom that made Chicago famous across the country and around the world began with a tragedy. In 1871, a large part of the city burned in the Great Chicago Fire, and on the land that was cleared in such a terrible way, violent construction began, and with it - the real heyday of Chicago. By the end of the 19th century, the first skyscraper was built, and over time a "forest of glass and concrete" grew, with the Willis Tower at the top – once the tallest building in the world.
On tours you will be shown and other attractions of Chicago – the University, considered one of the best in the world, the Old Town and the Gold Coast with buildings from the XIX – early XX century, the works of Chagall and Picasso, inscribed in the urban space. Art lovers will enjoy Chicago's Museum of Modern Art. If you are tired of the fast pace of city life, you can visit one of Chicago's original parks or take a boat ride on Lake Michigan.
