Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers. This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village. Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants. After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you. The luau is held at the beautiful Mauna Lani, Auberge Resort at Kalāhuipuaʻa, which is a historical area where ancient Hawaiians mastered the art of aquaculture and where King Kamehameha came to recuperate and work in the fishponds. Guests are welcomed with a traditional Oli (chant) in preparation for preliminary activities with the cast. After the activities, watch as the pig is taken out of the traditional imu pit before it is prepared for the Hawaiian buffet. Join us for a half-day adventure tour exploring the Big Island from summit to sea. We'll take you on a captivating journey through Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to the world's most active volcano, Kilauea. You'll travel from the visitor center to Kilauea crater for panoramic views of the smoking caldera and steaming volcanic vents, and walk inside iconic Nahuku (Thurston Lava Tube). For lunch, enjoy an island-inspired meal on us at a local restaurant. Later we'll visit Punaluʻu black sand beach and discover the picture-perfect scenery of Rainbow Falls in Hilo. What makes my tours special is that I will take you to places other tours will not go. We drive north of Hilo to see the surf spots were we will drive slowly down a narrow road. I will narrate to you about the surfers as they catching waves. We drive over old bridges through the lush jungle seeing many waterfalls. I will tell you about the plants, history, and real estate. We stop for iced coconuts if the vendor is there, then we will stop for whipped icecream. We stop to feed the wild pigs in one area if they're there. Then we will shop at the volcano village for things made in hawaii at the gift shop, and you can get food at the store to go. In the Hawaii Volcano National Park we will walk in a lava field to look for peacock lava, and I will take pictures of you inside of a fissure. I will take photos of you at all of my stops, and I will tell you the hawaiian mythology story's. I will bring fruit to sample from my farm, or stop at a fruit stand so you can buy fruit.
