Located only about half an hour from Stone Town, this island offers an excellent spot for snorkeling in crystal-clear waters and sunbathing on its peaceful shores. The island holds a unique historical significance. It was initially used as a quarantine station before the British built a prison for Stone Town in the 1890s. However, the prison building was never actually put into use. Today, visitors can explore the remains of the prison structure, as well as the lush surroundings that make this island a popular destination for both history buffs and nature lovers alike.

Experience the wander of nature differently Spices and herbs were originally introduced to Zanzibar by Portuguese traders in the 16th century, brought from their colonies in South America and India. Your tour starts with a walk through a local spice farm (shamba). There, you’ll learn how spices, herbs, and fruits are grown and cultivated. Your guide will explain how these crops are used in our cuisine.
