Sangsan Ilchulbong is a large 182m lava rock created by the eruption of an underwater volcano 5,000 years ago. As the volcano erupted and cooled, it formed a large crater-shaped volcanic rock. It is famous for its castle-like scenery and as a place to watch the sunrise due to its location on the east. Seongsan Ilchulbong is a World Natural Heritage site and the most visited tourist destination in Jeju. Also, at 2 o'clock every day, there is a haenyeo performance on Seongsan Ilchulbong Beach. On days when the weather is very bad, the haenyeo performance is suddenly canceled.

If you go to the free open course on the left and come out of the stairs, go down the stairs to the beach to see the haenyeo performance. Therefore, you must arrive at the parking lot by 1:30 PM to see the year-end performance. If you drive along the coastal road, you can actually see the local haenyeo working on collecting seafood.
