Before the shadows merged into dusk we slowly cruise on the Sundays River watching for birds and game along the way. We attempt to allocate our 4x4 Landcruisers to these tours as soon as possible, however a seat on the 4x4 vehicle cannot be guaranteed. We start the morning on the protected waters of Port Elizabeth’s Algoa Bay searching for seasonal Humpback and Southern Right Whales, Dolphins, Seals and Sharks. Before departing to the malaria free Addo Elephant National Park, scanning the thickets for the more traditional members of The BIG 5 and other animals, birds and reptiles. On this tour you have the unique opportunity to ride where the animals roam freely. An experienced guide will be with you on the Horseback part of the tour. After the Horse Riding you will be able to continue with a Safari in Addo Elephant Park. Please note that the morning ride starts at 08.30am and is for inexperienced riders. The afternoon ride starts at 14.00 and is for Experienced riders. The ride is approximately 2 hours for both morning and afternoon rides.

Spend the day exploring Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve with one of our expert local guides! We immediately start our safari, stopping at Van Stadens Bridge and Flower Reserve on the Old Cape Road to take pictures of this iconic landmark. Heading west towards Patensie a small Citrus Farming community before entering the Baviaanskloof Reserve. We stop at one of the many river streams for refreshments, before ascending up the Baviaanskloof Pass towards Bergplaas. We enjoy a Traditional South African braai (BBQ) lunch at one of the many picnic spots available and take a walk along the Kouga river enjoying Nature and the abundant of Wildlife, Buffalo, White Rhino, Kudu, Baboons and Bird life that can be spotted in the Reserve. Our well known Nukakamma Canoe Trail which is the only Green Flag Status Canoe Trail in South Africa. The journey begins at the Sundays River Adventures’ jetty aboard our 4-metre double canoes and continues for 13km along the Sundays River to your overnight accommodation. You’ll experience the thrill and excitement on the river while looking out for the more than 200 recorded species of birds, and the sneaky mullet fish actively jumping into or over the canoes. Keep your eyes peeled for kudu, bushbuck, porcupines, Cape otters, vervet monkeys and other wildlife hiding in the bushes along the banks of the river. Finish off your day with a well-deserved barbeque meal and a cold beverage while enjoying the view of the beautiful sunset from our deck.
