See various textiles woven with traditional Incan techniques. Next, you will visit the Moray agricultural terraces that were built along the hillsides. These terraces were built by the Incas to grow an abundance of crops. Right next to this area, at Maras, there are over 4000 salt ponds which were used for a long time by our ancestors. After that make your way to Urubamba where you enjoy a buffet lunch. Make your way to the historical town of Ollantaytambo to climb over 200 steps to reach the top of the ancient terraced fortress that overlook the town. Maras Moray:
It is located about 7 km southwest of Maras. They are gigantic natural holes in the surface of the land that were used to build terraces or agricultural terraces with their respective irrigation canals, is known as a biological experiment station quite advanced for its time that helped the settlers of the time.
Salineras: “Salt Mines”.
It consists of about 3000 small wells with an average area of about 5 m², in times of drought are filled or “watered” every 3 days with salt water emanating from the surface of the earth located at the top of the wells, so that when the water evaporates, the salt contained in it is solidifying, then the salt is beaten and thus granulated.
