Local producers as well as Viking artisans from other countries come to Gudvangen to sell their goods and crafts, converse and just have fun. Great chance to buy gifts and authentic Viking souvenirs. Our tour starts from Bergen and we travel to the Nærøyfjord. The picturesque fjord is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We depart from Bergen city center, watching the UNESCO World Heritage Site Bryggen from the seaside with the beautiful backdrop of the seven mountains surrounding the city, including Mount Fløyen and Mount Ulriken.
We then slowly cruise out the fjords from Bergen. The scenery changes gradually from when we leave the second largest city in Norway, passing the suburbs, to when we arrive at Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri or Beckerwyc. One of the 19th century super stars was a Norwegian musician from Bergen. He was a virtuoso violinist named Ole Bull and he lived on the Island of Light - the Lysøen - where this tour will take you and where you can visit Ole Bull's amazing villa.
During this 4-hours long tour in your own private car with your own private driver-guide, we will drive from Bergen centre to Buena quay. From there a small passenger ferry leaves to the Lysøen island regularly.
On the island you will visit the gorgeous villa, which is now a museum, on a guided tour. Afterwards, you are free to explore the island on your own or in the company of your guide - taking a walk on one of many walking paths.
