Combining two scenic flights this is a low fitness Tasman Glacier exploration for up to 2 hours ice time at approximately 1300 metres. Following your knowledgeable, professional, NZMGA trained Guide you will learn about and be in awe of New Zealand's big mountain country. The Tasman Glacier is Aotearoa New Zealand's longest glacier measuring at 27km long and as wide as 4km in places, so this is an experience of a lifetime to explore the ever changing ice formations that carved this wonderful landscape in the Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park. Your journey will begin with a scenic helicopter flight to the Tasman Glacier, landing 1200m above sea level. THE KIWI CLASSIC • INTRO INTO BACKCOUNTRY SKIING • A UNIQUE NZ SKIING ADVENTURE FOR ALL AGES & ABILITIES • EXPLORING THE ICE CAVES/SERACS IN CANYON LANDS • BUCKET LIST ITEM • The skiing terrain is ideal for intermediate skiers, exploring the ice caves/seracs on the glacier, and with wide/open runs • Trip is open for Skiers and Boarders • Side adventures include visits to the ice caves/natural ice features during the ski down • minimum age of 10yrs, must have adult supervision and be confident skier • Ski Guide included and safety equipment such as transceivers that will begiven om the day/training before flight (customers have to bring their own skis, boots, poles and helmets). We recommend a minimum of 90mm width underfoot skis. Customers can use our skis and poles at base, however we have a limited and mixed supply, and we do not have boots here. Customers to bring their sunglasses/goggles, sunscreen, warm clothing, and gloves.

This is a 45-minute flight that encompasses all the main geographic features in the Aoraki Mt Cook National Park by circumnavigating Aoraki/Mt Cook, our highest peak at 12,349 feet. Mt Cook is the centre of the national park and this circular flight takes in all the iconic geographic features that this region of NZ has to offer. You will see the longest glacier in NZ, the Tasman Glacier, on the eastern side of the main divide. We will then cross the main divide to the West Coast and take in the Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier. We will circle back onto the eastern side of the Southern Alps into the Hooker Valley before returning back into the Tasman Valley to land back where we started. This is a fantastic flight that condenses the best of NZ’s scenery into an unforgettable experience. We look forward to showing you what this area has to offer!
