Namobudhha is related to the previous life of Shakyamuni Buddha. A legends says, in his previous life Shaykyamuni was born in royal family and he was the prince. One day, while he was walking around the palace area, he found a hungry tigress almost in the dying situation with her cubs. Seeing this pitiful scenario, Mahasattva Shakyamuni couldn’t wait to help them. He finally decided to feed them his own flesh to the hungry tigress. Later, his remaining body part such as bones and hair found, in the memory of young prince, The king they built Stupa on his remaining which later became very popular among Buddhist and Hindus knowing it as Namo Buddha.

Changunarayan Temple is situated in Bhaktapur, about 12 km to the east of Kathmandu.
