after a local visit of the souk, we climb a scenic road where we will make some stops for photos and some information about the area and its inhabitants. we follow the reliefs down to the lush green valley of Ourika. arriving in a small authentic village where we will enjoy the feeling of this environment and sit for a traditional Berber lunch with a local family. After we continue along the green valley to visit an aromatic garden specializing in growing Safran “ an optional visit with entry fees, five euros per person” . it is an ideal location to learn about this mythical spice and its culinary uses. Taste a cup of tea prepared carefully with aromatic plants including Safran and leave the garden to set off back to Marrakech.

Later in the year the apples are harvested and even in the winter you can smell the apples in the air. From Imlil centre we walk up to the village of Aremd, from here you can see across the flood plains is the route to Jbel Toubkal at 4167mtrs. One of my routes goes through Aremd, through walnut groves and the villages of Tagadirt and Targa Imoula and along the Tamatert Valley back to Imlil.
