A short car transfer east of Ulaanbaatar brings you to the giant mounted statue of Chinggis Khan where the biking starts from. While bikes are being readied you can take a panoramic view of the vast steppe from an observation deck on the horses head. You'll cycle at your own pace on peaceful country roads and catch a glimpse of a life that has seemingly not changed for a few hundred years. In just an hour’s driving distance from Ulaanbaatar there lies the Terelj NP, the most easily accessible part of the nearly 2mln hectare Khan Khenty strictly protected area. Terelj, meaning rhododendron is just a tiny but nevertheless a spectacular part of it, a fantastic venue for hiking and horseback riding. Proximity to the capital makes it a popular destination for single day tours. You will find yourself in a wide mountain bowl dotted with rock formations of weird shapes, quite often named after things they resemble. Upon arrival we hike in the park, visit a charming Buddhist temple on a cliff top and optionally take a short horseback riding tour. On this tour we will take you to a nomadic family and go on horse to Turtle rock, 23m tall turtle shaped rock - one of the famous places in Terelj and hike up to Aryabal medication temple on the beautiful hillside. From the park we'll easily connected Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex. The statue is dedicated to Mongolian legendary emperor - Chinggis Khaan. After you are picked up in the morning from your hotel or location you specified in Ulaanbaatar, you will be driven to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, a semi-desert type beautiful landscape with big sand dunes. Your lunch will be served at a suitable spot on the way. The mountain is home to hundreds of birds, deer, and gazelle. You can go hiking around the area or ride a camel for a couple of hours to the small sand dunes nearby called Elsen Tasarkhai. Later, you will visit a local nomad family where you will have an opportunity to experience their way of life, culture, and traditions. Afterward, We will visit Khustai National Park as a bonus where we are going to see the world-only wild Przewalski horses in Mongolia. The park is also home to red deer, marmots, 220 species of birds, and other wildlife. Then you will be transferred back to Ulaanbaatar where this tour concludes.
