Full Day Tour in Mantanani

8
Mantanani Island is a group of three isolated islands northwest of Kota Belud, a one-hour drive from Kota Kinabalu. Although only approximately an hour's boat rides by speedboat from the mainland, the islands were only known to a few locals. Time slows down there amidst the crystal clear blue waters lapping on white sandy beaches. Three wrecks have been discovered which still hold plenty of secrets and are now home to a menagerie of marine creatures such as Lionfish, Scorpionfish, octopus, glassfish and many species of rays flutter around like blue spotted ray and marbled sting ray amongst large schools of fish. The coral reefs surrounding the islands have plenty to offer, for both novice and experienced diver even snorkeling too. There are now 16 dive sites been identified by Mantanani Island Resort with many more still to be explore. The island promises the most diverse marine life with visibility up to 40 metres.

Located 2,272 feet above sea levels, the harvests are 100% pesticide free as insect are drawn towards the 130 million year old rainforest surrounding the plantation. Afterwards head towards to the World World II Memorial Site also known as Kundasang War Memorial by the locals. Klias Wildlife Safari River Cruise - Proboscis Monkey & Fireflies

21

With the bizarre-looking proboscis monkey gaining as much popularity with the tourists as the orang utan, the Klias Wetland with its large proboscis population is fast becoming the latest ecotourism destination in Sabah. Get those camera, binoculars on stand-by and keep your eyes peeled for the shy creatures in between the branches. As dusk settles in with a sunset, enjoy the sights and sounds in a natural setting as you have a sumptuous village style dinner. Show’s not over yet though, there is one more trip through the mangrove swamp, but this time it is graced by the secret rhythm of fireflies and their flickering lights. However, as much as we hate to disappoint, we are entering a natural habitat where sightings are common, but it is NOT GUARANTEED :)
