Learn about Suiboku-ga, a discipline under the Japanese ink painting art of Sumi-e. This technique incorporates mixing varying levels of water into ink to create texture and depth in the painting. Held within a Japanese teahouse and led by award-winning calligrapher and artist Rensui, this workshop starts off with an introduction to Suiboku-ga along with a live painting demonstration by Rensui. After this introduction, you will have hands-on experience brushing on the object you selected at booking and by the end of the workshop you will have created your own work of art to bring back home. A packet of green tea from the famous Uogashi Meicha teahouse in Tsukiji will also be provided to guests as an additional souvenir.

Asakusa is said to be a downtown area. Sensoji Temple is the oldest temple in Tokyo, visited by about 30 million worshipers annually. Kaminarimon and Nakamise Street are also famous tourist spots. Strolling around Asakusa in a kimono suits you best. Asakusa Aiwa Kimono is a reliable and highly-reputed shop run by the owner of the kimono industry for 40 years. There are more than 800 kimonos and yukatas on hand, and there are always staff who can speak Chinese and English. The shop is very close to Asakusa Station, and you can easily go to Kaminarimon, Sensoji Temple, and Sky Three.

Kamakura is the home of the first Samurai Government so its history goes back 800 years. We will first see a panoramic view of Enoshima/Mount Fuji and take a quick stroll near where the basketball anime SLAM DUNK was staged. (Tokyo/Shinjuku starter only) Then, we will revert to Kamakura station to pick up anyone starting from Kamakura station. We will visit the TEMPLES BUILT INSIDE CAVES and see a smaller version of Fushimi Inari; the beauty of ROWS OF TORII gates. We will proceed to see the GREAT BUDDHA and visit the flower Temple HASEDERA SHRINE housing the massive WOODEN STATUE of the Kannon. A veggie LUNCH reserved for MONKS will be appreciated here at the same location. We will pass thru KENCHOJI temple and see the oldest ZEN temple in Kamakura, pay tribute to TSURUOKA HACHIMAN, a shrine dedicated to the Minamoto clan & the samurai spirit.
