We will meet in Piazza Garibaldi, next to the statue of the same name, where our local guide will be waiting for us. We will start walking through the streets of the historic center, in search of the more traditional flavors of local cuisine ... How about a platter of Tuscan cheeses and cold cuts with a good Spritz? We will taste these delicacies in one of the oldest wine bars in Pisa! Of course, not even a portion of cecina can be missing, a very thin focaccia prepared with chickpea flour, a real must of Pisan gastronomy and the típical pizza we made in the city which is different from other places in Italy. Pisa is well known as an artistic city, but not everyone knows that it is possible to spend a day at the beach not far from the city center. This tour follows the "Trammino" new cycle path to the seaside resort of Marina di Pisa. The medieval town was founded in 1255 upon the pre-existing "Rocca di Sala" fortress of the Lombards by Luca Guiscardo da Pietrasanta, from whom it got its name. Pietrasanta was at its height a part of the Republic of Genoa (1316–1328). We will drive to Pisa, known in the world for its famous Leaning Tower ( it's not the only one!)...
