An Hiking tour of about 15 km, the Alta variant of the Sentiero del Viandante, along a steep path that connects Lierna to Ortanella and from there to Varenna. From the thick Val Brentalone, on a steep path that crosses the cliff of Zucco della Pecora, you reach the cross of Brentalone, 650 m above sea level. Continue to Alpe di Mezzedo, with its ancient "Giazzera" and a breathtaking view of the center of the lake that is hard to forget. From there to Ortanella, the highest point of the Sentiero del Viandante (952 m asl) with its ancient church of S. Pietro. Easy hike in mountain with great views. With this trail we will discover an interesting and panoramic place on the mountains over Lake Como in the Lecco side. The guide will collect you in Como and in about 45 minutes driving we will reach Piani dei Resinelli an old fashioned location in Valsassina. We will hike along a little natural park reaching the top of Mount Coltiglione where the view on the Dolomitic Grignetta is very interesting. We will walk along the wide ridge reaching the side of the mountain overlooking the town of Lecco and its lake. Then with a little descent we will go over the "Belvedere dei Resinelli" a footbridge suspended in the mountain. Taking this hike with a guide will be a great experience where I will tell you about nature and local culture. I will tell you about plants, flowers, geology, geomorphology, alpine legends and typical local products.

First, climb the Ghisallo, which doesn’t need any more presentation beyond its name, then, take on the terrible Muro di Sormano …"the WALL"! It’s a 1.8km climb with an average 18% gradient, and a max gradient of 25%. It’s the toughest bike path in the world! Look down at the road as you climb to keep an eye on the altitude, written every meter of the way on the asphalt. The Muro was ridden for 3 years in the Giro di Lombardia from 1960 to 1962, after which it was abandoned for 50 years because it was too hard…even for the pros! Since 2012 the Muro has been put back in the race. You can’t miss it! Give it a try! No putting a foot down!
